iwhat a terrible day for @thesmallfarm.xyz, the students and his colleagues at the tent school where he works. no wonder he had to give instructions on what to do in a live-fire, shoot-to-kill situation just 4 days ago: the Yellow Line is that close to the tent school. and the IOF shoots at tents.

Hi, it's Mohamed's friend. "Grueling" is still an understatement. The school (remember, just a tent) was under gunfire from the Yellow Line for about half an hour. Everyone, teachers and students alike, had to lie down on the ground and wait for it to be over. Imagine. bit.ly/help-mohamed

one more week until Mohamed @thesmallfarm.xyz gets paid. one more week of struggle to care for his family of 13, winterize their tents + the tin house, plant the winter crop. this week: 69.48/400 last week: 100/400 2 weeks ago: 160/400 his income can’t bridge a chasm this wide bit.ly/help-mohamed
Mohamed holds back the top leaves of an okra plant with his right hand to show two delicate, pale yellow flowers with purple pistils. the plant is swaddled with fabric at the roots and growing in the sand dunes (mawasī) of Al-Mawasi camp, Gaza.

Hello friends, sending you greetings from Gaza. Honestly, I need to repair the tents and the outer fencing in preparation for winter; lately, the donations I receive barely cover the cost of food. Please share this and donate if you can—I am not doing well. bit.ly/help-mohamed

Hello friends. I send you greetings from Gaza. Preliminary statistics show that 16 children from the school were injured during the war—out of a total of 400 students—meaning that 4% of the student body was injured. This is war. Please share this and donate if you can. bit.ly/help-mohamed

Hi, it's Mohamed's friend. Folks, I did it. I think I've might have made our friend cry today–and I'm not even sorry. 💁‍♀️ (I almost cried, too, so fair is fair.) I'll show you why in a few days. Until then, please share and donate if you can. Food prices are still very high. bit.ly/help-mohamed

Hello friends. Please forgive me—this is the first post on my new account. It is shocking to us all, but this child—and indeed all of us in Gaza—are victims of the trauma of war. Please read, share, follow the account, and donate if you can. bit.ly/help-mohamed

The hidden face of war—what you don't see on the news: Yesterday, while I was working at the school, a mother arrived with her seven-year-old son. Something was clearly wrong; the child refused to enter the classroom tent with the other children and began to cry. The mother shouted at him, trying to force him to sit with the group, but he clung to her, unwilling to let go. I stepped in and asked what was happening, and the mother explained the situation from the beginning. She said that about a year ago, the boy had been caught in a shelling incident; a wall had collapsed on him. Although he was rescued and treated, he had lost the ability to speak for nearly two months. She added that, ever since then, he refused to be apart from her for even a moment—he even slept right next to her and never left her side. When school started, a problem arose: the student had to sit in class for three hours without the comfort of a warm embrace—his mother's. Believe me, no one on the teaching staff knew how to handle the situation. In the end, we decided to let him go home (to the tent) with his mother, hoping we could find a solution to his problem. This is the kind of situation that makes a person truly hate their job.

Hi, it's Mohamed's friend. Here's a small glimpse into what it means to be a teacher in Gaza. Children being scared and clingy on their first day at school is difficult enough, but add to that the trauma these children have been through. How do you deal with that? bit.ly/help-mohamed
