Summary

Wei Ying is a normal first-year college student. He lives with his parents. He gets good grades. He has friends. Or a friend, at least. Everything is going well, at least until a stunning man in hanfu with white hair manifests right in front of his eyes on a field trip. Suddenly he’s stuck introducing a sword spirit to the modern world, dealing with a mystery involving metal shards appearing all over Jiangsu province, and grappling with the possibility that Siri from his old phone might be sentient.

What’s a normal first-year college student supposed to do under these circumstances? He dives right in, of course.

“Turn around. Don’t look this way,” Wei Ying says quietly as he positions himself between Hanguang-jun and the tourists. A girl calls out, asking him about the handsome cosplaying gege he’s hiding.
Wei Ying can only pray they don’t get picked by the claw of public attention. The last thing this guy needs is to end up on hot search. Wei Ying doesn’t need it either, but the worst that’ll happen to him is the roasting his mother will give him when she finds out.
“Hey, I’m pretty cute, too, don’t you think?” he calls back. “Why don’t we leave my friend here alone, huh? We’re just trying to do a shoot in the woods.”
“Where’s your camera, then?”

It seemed none of them were looking at Lan Zhan directly. Nie Huisang had tried only to be cowed instantly by his severe expression. Jiang Cheng felt awkward already being there. The quiet and mysterious gimmick, added with the formality of the note was not helping so he also kept his head down. Lan Zhan calmed seeing their reactions. He had to put the notepad down to write, it was not feasible to keep it up over his face without looking ridiculous and also suspicious. As he

finished taking the first two's orders, he turned to Wei Ying only to find him leveling him with an intent stare. Lan Zhan almost jumped out of his skin but forced himself to remain calm. He stared back at him, cocking an eyebrow in question. Wei Ying seemed out of it. Did he recognize him? Lan Zhan flipped to one of his tabs and held it out to Wei Ying's face. Wei Ying jumped slightly at the intrusion to his vision.

Do you need more time, Gongzi?

“Ayaih! No, no ahahaha!” Wei Ying answered cheerfully, “I'm sorry, jiejie. You're just so pretty I got distracted!"
