also, totally unbeknownst to me in 1997, this book would prepare me for how to read the early type of blogging/posting that started happening in mid '00s or whatever. people would be like why would anyone want to randomly read 200 words about pop and i was like "obviously no one read this book lol"

I like Dave and all but it’s weird that this is hitting the guy who’s written about sports and politics for a while like this

hell yeah it's a bunch of songs we've heard so many times in our lives that it's become soooooo boring (but we still have to pretend to be in awe). imagine only listening to five tracks by Hendrix and they somehow are never "Rainy Day, Dream Away" and "Still Raining, Still Dreaming."

looking forward to checking off a thing off the american experience list: going to a Vietnamese restaurant, and then going to see an Icelandic singer play live. (how did i get so lucky that i happen to live near the only U.S. city she's playing on this small tour? don't know, but i'll take it.)

Arny Margret. cover of her album I Miss You, I Do.

this is like the political equivalent of being like "yeah, in high school i hit a HR over 500 feet. broke a window of an abandoned warehouse. it's not there anymore. field's different too now. but, yeah, probably 520 feet honestly."

dude, I’m gonna admit my bias right now: I love wood-paneled-walls-and-xmas-lights tracks, so I’ve of course been in complete love with this song for the last month

if you had to imagine what a cross between Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow would sound like today/present tense, I think she’s the answer. just quietly, unexpectedly great.

hi, i don't work in the music industry but i think i might've found the next Sheryl Crow. she apparently lives in LA and everything. she's really good.
