happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been! with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

Popular meme format, grandma labeled with "bluesky's public launch was one year ago today." Younger person helping her labeled with "sure grandma let's get you to bed."

Whatever EA say or do in throwing Veilguard and Bioware under the bus, they can’t take away that the DA team made us a game about fighting darkness, keeping hold of hope, and being kind in a time we all truly needed it. #ThankYouDADevs

I mean… he’s wrong… but sure, you keep drinking the Kool Aide my dude. I’ll happily watch your empire sink while you do. What makes DA VG need “live services” when neither Star Wars: Jedi single-player games have them and they did just fine… oh yeah because you supported the studio properly…

"A beloved gaming institution & it's influential fantasy worlds has been utterly squandered, to say nothing of the lives and talents [...]" Shout out to PC Gamer for calling EA out on driving legendary RPG studio Bioware into the ground. Full disrespect here: fuck you, EA. tinyurl.com/4ua4d43h

BioWare has reportedly lost at least half its staff, with fewer than 100 people left and the studio a ghost of its former self

Instead of killing the golden goose, what if you slowly starved it to death over more than a decade.

Mythal’s essence has acted over thousands of years to try and atone for the mistakes of her past. She used Titan magic and lyrium to burg the old gods. Her essence inhabited and drove Andraste’s great rise to prominence that united southern Thedas against Tevinter.

I am proud of a lot of things I worked on as part of Dragon Age, but my proudest achievement? Making sure the Wedge of Destiny is in the game. Bounce, my glorious emmental. Bounce. (To all that ask - yes, it is canonically emmental. I made the item, I think that gives me ultimate authority).

I'm really sick of people ripping something they claim to love to shreds and then getting all shocked and emotional when it goes away. Criticism is valuable. The entitled whining about subjective things, the harassment of devs, making the community toxic, none of that is okay.

With all due anger at the entropy of for-profit game development, I've had a moment in every DA where I keenly felt a reassuring hand of a writer connect with my shoulder directly. I'll always be grateful for that. Wishing my best to those affected ♥️

I remember playing Dragon Age Inquisition in a year I had a reckoning with myself over my being queer. A lot changed that year. I also remember Dorian confessing he was gay to my Inquisitor and actually tearing up a bit. I wanted to jump into my screen and give him a hug.

The more involved with gaming I get, the more that the work of individual devs is important to me than a studio. Especially when devs are treated so poorly by AAA studios. Remember to follow the work of the devs you admire, they are more than the studios they work at.

I hated medieval-style fantasy games, I only played sci-fi and sci-fantasy stuff, but I tried DA: Origins because I enjoyed Mass Effect so much. I’ve found incredible beauty and creativity in so many of these universes since, and Dragon Age is chief among them.

Dragon Age was my rpg awakening, and will forever be the love of my life. Each game holds a special place, and the community fostered around them means they'll never die - 16 years has shown me this. My heart goes out to those let go, what you did will always be cherished. Thank you so, so much ❤️.
