learned that hiking pants are not the best if you want to avoid collecting hundreds of Illinois and pointed leaf tick trefoil seeds! picking them off at least makes for a relaxing afternoon in the sun :)

For my most recent article, I visited Naselle, WA, to hear from residents about an upcoming DNR timber auction they believe will affect their watershed. I also learned that hiking through a forest is difficult while carrying photo equipment, so kudos to environmental photojournalists.
