Even this piece about “experts” gets stuff wrong, it was blatantly obvious that HSBC estimate was wrong in November, and quotes a guy off of Twitter who is saying stuff that’s numerically incorrect. They need more than that revenue! AhhhHhhhhh
In November, HSBC forecast that despite a growing user base, OpenAl's compute power obligations will total $1.4 trillion by 2033. OpenAI later clarified it would be closer to $600bn by 2030, but just the rental space for all those data centres, for instance, will cost $620bn, analysts point out."OpenAl needs to generate $200bn in annual revenue by 2030 to justify their projections.
That's 15x growth in five years while costs keep exploding," George Noble, a veteran financial analyst, said in a post on X.
"The diminishing returns are becoming impossible to hide. Competitors are catching up. The lawsuits are piling up," Noble added.

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional! ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.
The Gravamen of the Disclosure

4. The gravamen of the disclosure is as follows:
a. By memorandum dated May 12, 2025 (“the May 12 Memo”), Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons authorizes ICE agents to forcibly enter into certain people’s homes without a judicial warrant, consent, or an emergency.

b. Specifically, in the May 12 Memo, the Acting ICE Director authorized ICE Agents to rely on Form I-205 (which is not a judicial warrant) to enter the residence of an alien subject to a final order of deportation, without consent, including by “a necessary and reasonable amount of force.”2c. While addressed to “All ICE Personnel,” in practice the May 12 Memo has not been formally distributed to all personnel. Instead, the May 12 Memo has been provided to select DHS officials who are then directed to verbally brief the new policy for action. Those supervisors then show the Memo to some employees, like our clients, and direct them to read the Memo and return it to the supervisor.

1/ THREAD: This year ICE has sent a record 600 immigrant kids into federal shelters, more than in the previous four years combined. Data suggests some are being separated from their families. For one 15-year-old, it began with a cracked windshield 👇
Article excerpt: Shortly after 8 a.m., Carreto’s phone rang. It was Carlos, telling her an officer with the Florida Highway Patrol had pulled over the truck on Interstate 4 near Tampa. The stated reason: cracks in their windshield. But Carreto was worried. She knew Florida police were collaborating with federal immigration authorities. Her fiancé was undocumented. She says she rushed to the scene and made it there just before the immigration officers.

As she feared, Matias had been detained. But to her surprise, so had Carlos. He was just a kid. (ProPublica is only identifying Carlos by his first name because he is a minor.) Carlos was in high school. He’d been living in the United States for over two years and was working toward applying for legal status to stay long term. The government had given her, a legal resident, custody of him. Now he was in handcuffs. Why would they take him too?
