Bit of a gap in posts as I was very busy in the run up to (and then at) RuneFest. Which was excellent. So, back to it. It’s September 1990! An American president is meddling overseas trying to stop…

Here we go. The final part of Inferno. Sort of. I would argue Inferno finished when Maddie died and everything went back to normal, but there are these two ‘fallout’ issues attached to the end. Gra…

Back with Claremont and Silvestri, but with a guest inker this week – Hilary Barta. He worked with John Byrne on The Thing and regularly did both DC and Marvel work through the 80’s and 90’s.…

Another GIANT SIZED issue. But this should be the last one as we are nearing the climax. Walt’s cover gives us Maddie and Jean engaged in what looks like a psychic battle, with Scott prone on…

Another giant sized issue! Fml, these posts are getting massive. BUT, this issue is finally giving us the X-Factor/X-Men meet up we’ve been waiting for, so I’m happy for that to have room to breath…

Our final visit to The New Mutants for Inferno and it’s GIANT sized! If we remember, Magik is currently in a massive downward spiral. She has been isolated from the rest of the team, she is trapped…

Back to X-Factor. At last. That’s a bit mean actually, I did enjoy the detour into New Mutants and X-Terminators, but the order of my version of Inferno means there have been five posts since the l…

Back to Uncanny X-Men we go. Due to our sidequest into New Mutants and X-Terminators it’s been three weeks since we were in this book, so to recap –  Maddie (now very much the Goblin Que…

We are into the realms of simultaneous issues this week, as New Mutants 72 takes place almost side by side with X-Terminators issue 4. We sort of had this in Mutant Massacre, but it was a bit of a …

So. I briefly covered X-Terminators in the post about X-Factor issue 36, but here are the key details once again. It was a four issue mini series that essentially led into Inferno, with the cast be…

Back with New Mutants and back with the creative team of Louise Simonson and Brett Blevins, but now with Al Williamson replacing Terry Austin on inks. The last time we were with the team was for th…

Another banger of a cover served up by Silvestri and Green. And, potentially, our third homage to the classic Giant Sized X-Men cover? Might only be two, I’ve lost count already. The big variation …

Back with X-Factor and issue 36 marks nearly 3 years of the book. The duo of Louise and Walt Simonson are still working with Bob Wiacek, giving us a very long lasting creative team. Following on fr…

Ok. Inferno. Lets do this. We still have the team of Claremont, Silvestri and Dan Green from Fall of the Mutants and they start us off with a wonderful cover featuring Mr Sinister holding Madelyne …

August 1988 and it’s been almost a year since Fall of the Mutants, so it will be interesting to see how far the fallout from that was felt. Fall was very much a sequel/continuation of Mutant Massac…

Whereas the third part of the Uncanny X-Mens’ Fall of the Mutants adventure was a balls to the wall, end of the world affair, X-Factor finds us in much more reflective territory. The Horsemen and A…

The last time we were with the Uncanny X-Men in Dallas the following things had happened – a load of timelines had collapsed into present day Dallas because The Adversary (still looking like …

And on to New Mutants. Now, when we did Mutant Massacre I criticised New Mutants as being the lightest of the tie ins, when it should have been the strongest. Obviously the format of Fall means all…

Another double sized issue for us this week. Which means you’re in for another monster post. Apologies. What we get straight away is another absolute banger of a cover. That’s the sort of thing tha…

Claremont, Silvestri and Dan Green give us a giant sized issue this week.  We pick up straight after the battle at Eagle Plaza from last issue – the X-Men (with the captive Mystique) inside t…

The long read: Steeped in gaming and rightwing culture wars, Musk and his team of teenage coders set out to defeat the enemy of the United States: its people

And back to X-Factor. Louise Simonson is still writing the book, getting into her third year. Her husband Walter is now on art alongside Bob Wiacek, with Walt giving us a quality cover here.  …

Back with Claremont and Silvestri again, we pick the book up in Scotland, with Colossus. Which is a good jumping on point for those of us who have been away for a while (basically a years worth of …

The next big event book for the X-Men was 1988’s Fall of the Mutants, once again running across all three X titles as well as Power Pack and Thor. This time however, there would be no interconnecti…

A new report highlights that there is another way possible on immigration that will benefit everyone

For the last X-Factor issue of Mutant Massacre we are back with the Simonsons. Walt is on cover duty and gives us a wild image of Cyclops fighting a roman looking chap. Beast and Iceman are escapin…

The Windsor-Smith and Crespi cover promises us ‘Wolverine vs Sabretooth Round 1’. Exciting stuff indeed.  Picking up straight from Power Pack, Uncanny 212 begins with Wolverine searching the Tunnel…

Power Pack 27 Ok. So, Power Pack. They are a team of siblings (Jack, Alex, Julie and Katie) with powers, they also sometimes have Franklin Richards with them (he is a tiny child at this point, but …

The next few issues in my version are all the tie-ins, so an issue of The New Mutants, an issue of Power Pack and two issues of Thor. Presumably the fact that Louise Simonson writes Power Pack and …
