Reposted by BriannaJon Ingold @jon.inkle.co · 25/08/2026I've been playing with this in the last few days and it's a lovely thing. Always loved the idea of an e-ink IF platform, so I've been writing a few things to try out on it as a summer project. Lends itself to slightly chunkier blocks of story than an iphone (less swooshy). Dialogue is still great. 14816

Brianna @mc.horse · 03/08/2026Hell yeah, NACSW is great. Went really deep into it with my service dog - we'd spend hours every Saturday out doing huge search areas with friends, talking through the odor picture. I love that it gets pretty much as complex as brain + dog are willing to go. Will happily nerd out about it anytime. 030
Brianna @mc.horse · 03/08/2026If you ever want a tester of any sort, hit me up and I will buy one of those IR screens immediately! 110
Brianna @mc.horse · 03/08/2026Oh it definitely resonates! I'd commit crimes for a big tabletop-sized version...but even a normal-sized one really seems like it hits the "I want the multiplayer spatial bits of FigJam, but with affordances aimed at writing, and in meatspace" that I always wish existed for complex planning/writing. 110

Brianna @mc.horse · 03/08/2026I remain utterly captivated by this project! Such tactility. It'd be fun to have a little audio when you chuck something :) Haptic feedback would be cool too, but I imagine those little IR screens don't come with that. 110
Brianna @mc.horse · 03/08/2026Hey this looks cool as heck and really fun! IMO making things as described in this post is a kind of digital touching grass, and to do it collectively and examinedly is even better 021

Brianna @mc.horse · 24/07/2026Potted herbs can come inside in the off season, but they won't do great without supplemental lighting etc. So unless you want a new (small) hobby I'd still recommend the Aerogarden, + treating outdoor herbs as a fun seasonal thing in the spring/summer for more output. 110
Brianna @mc.horse · 24/07/2026You probably want an aerogarden for the fussy ones (parsley, cilantro) or anything in the fall/winter. It is your easiest option for not thinking about it at all :) Mint will go nuts w/ sunlight, water, and nutrients, so it's great for outside in the summer. Do not plant it in your yard! Pots only! 240
