Majora's Mask 3D is a remake that makes the game worse in almost every respect, but they also added the fishing minigame so I can't hate it completely

Every now and then the whole “I wish Sonic was owned by Nintnedo so we’d get consistent quality” nonsense starts back up and I’m like, the whole appeal of Sonic is weird overambitious shoot-for-the-fences shit that misses 90% of the time and changes your life the other 10%. It’s a feature not a bug!

I always feel kind of conflicted because people overhype Steel Ball Run and make it sound like the second coming of Jesus, but I kinda actually do think it's that good. Like I'm annoyed how much people put it on a pedestal but I can't deny that it's an incredible adventure story by every metric.

My “friends” just gave me an intervention about my accursed sword. I had to explain to a room full of adults that I can put down the abominable blade whenever I want, but it’s showing me a greater potential for myself and humanity. They don’t get that this is normal for the dark artifact community.

Roberta Williams created the King’s Quest series because she liked the feeling of being stuck on a puzzle for days; she liked the feeling of having to wander aimlessly and try everything. There were detractors, but King’s Quest was a popular series. Today, they would be seen as design flaws.

This is how I feel about my Posts. When everyone starts Liking and Reposting something I made I realize I fucked up and said something too agreeable.

Approximate half-way into development, Kojima decided to re-write the script in order to make it more polarising after it performed very well with test audiences. Kojima explained to co-composer Woodkid:

“We have a problem. I’m going to be very honest, we have been testing the game with players and the results are too good. They like it too much. That means something is wrong; we have to change something. If everyone likes it, it means it’s mainstream. It means it’s conventional. It means it’s already pre-digested for people to like it. And I don’t want that. I want people to end up liking things they didn’t like when they first encountered it, because that’s where you really end up loving something.”

Happy anniversary to Chains of Promathia! The level capped areas and battlefields were ostensibly to allow less established to participate, but in practice it ended up being some of the hardest content in the game. Basically I paid $30 to be stuck on Mission 2-3 for a decade.

I’m not even disagreeing with this guy, but this what I mean when I say a true 1:1 “normal” remake is impossible. Old games are abstract. Statistically, the majority of players will have inferred something different from that abstractness than the people who are developing the remake.
