I don't know if it's a bizarre coping mechanism in our turbulent times or what, but I have been thinking about my early depression era characters a lot lately. You could say there is a wolf at the door.

If Paramount can shell out billions of dollars to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, then they can pay their unionized CBS staff a fair wage. I stand with the CBS staff who walked out today as they fight these corporate giants for essential protections and fair contracts.

Been saying this since last year. Looking at this administration's goals is like reading cartoon levels of villainy. I know many writers who have come up with better plots.

May Walker @maywalkerfilm.bsky.social · 29/12/2025

I have noticed something similar with the pacing of a film . I make it a point to keep my work evenly paced so it feels grounded , but I have been called "Slow Burn," because I take to page 10 to introduce the hook/ insisting incident, which 5- 10 years ago was conventional wisdom.

Fellow writers, have you ever "what if?" too close to the sun , and if so what was that what if and how did it affect the story , characters or otherwise? #writing #characters #story #plotting

#NoAiNovbember #cat @glassfoxaudio.bsky.social @fateofkorrpod.bsky.social Very small update, but big progress and milestone. I set out to write a plot thread for season 2 and I exceeded my expectations. Drafting the whole thing in less than a month instead of the full month. Happy for the win!

#noainovember @glassfoxaudio.bsky.social @fateofkorrpod.bsky.social Drafting this week is slowed due to the victory of completing my initial goal early. So, I tinkered with plot holes.

Going to post a video on Instagram. But I am updating about my #NoAinovember experience this week. Well I finished the plot thread I set out to work on. That's really good. I will still be working on other parts of season 2. So stay tuned! @glassfoxaudio.bsky.social @fateofkorrpod.bsky.social

one difficult thing with being a writer, especially one working on stuff you're releasing yourself or with minimal editorial guidance is: when are you done writing? when is it ready to release? to address that, I've developed a consistent editorial practice for myself. it looks like this:

This is exactly why Fate of Korr will only be 2 seasons. However, late stage developments may adjust the format and episode count, but no less committed to our principals . Wolf 359 is missed but appreciated!

Author and filmmaker Justine Bateman on generative AI

"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian

A statement from Bishop Talbert Swan:
“If burning Teslas make you furious, but watching thousands of federal workers get stripped of their jobs, healthcare, and pensions doesn't move you—YOU are the problem.
If scorched cars spark more outrage than billions being slashed from cancer research, humanitarian aid, education, and support for the most vulnerable-your moral compass is broken.
