Any good advice on bot prevention for online studies? We usually use well regulated subject pools, so haven't had a problem before. But a student is struggling with a study where she has to use social media networks to find pps with specific language backgrounds.

To remember something (e.g., a list of groceries), you can repeat the items aloud or in your mind, to remind you. What if you are trying to recall locations? Do we analogously use glances toward them to boost memory? I don't think so, and here is some new evidence against this idea. 🧵 #psychscisky

Really excited that this comprehensive study by Thomas Wilschut is now in preprint! Over four experiments, he shows that having learners immediately try to retrieve answers helps in figuring out which items they already know, but that the attempted retrieval benefit diminishes with repetition.
