Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Given the interconnected world we live in, and Trump's refusal to accept defeat, and his repeated assertions that he will wipe out the Iranian people if he can't win, there's a very real possibility that they may directly have triggered the nuclear apocalypse. Now that's a legacy. 000
Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 09/10/2026They're really not. They're political, and hierarchical, often being awarded to supervisors rather than the scientists, especially where the innovator is a woman. Obama's Peace prize was never explained, giving rise to an expectation from Trump which directly lead to him starting the Iran war. 110

Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 07/10/2026RAF Fairford update: the US has pulled it's bombers out in an emergency evacuation, which is frankly a relief, as providing bases so they can bomb made us a party to the aggression. Perhaps more importantly though, it's because Iran can now hit airbases in the UK with hypersonic missiles. 110
Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Does calling artificial intelligence super intelligence mislead people into thinking it's actually intelligent rather than an iterative feedback weighted averaging engine? 100
Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Clearly he does, as he retreated to a space he knows the dog can't follow. My reading, right or wrong, is the interaction is canine pack dominance between socially bonded animals as both could have hurt the other if they wanted to, and didn't. I wouldn't allow it though. 000

Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Which has got to make you question both Andy Burnham and Donald Trump. Releasing them on bail, well within the terrorism questioning time for civilians, and clearly not considering them foreign agents out of uniform who could be held until the end of the conflict, really underlines their duplicity. 000
Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Hmm, so Fairford: Police find 3 "Fuel 2You" vans with fuel tanks with some petrol in them, and a gang of 5 Londoners in their 20s in Balaclavas, who are then released on bail. No explosives. Smells like a fuel heist at a time of unprecedented fuel shortages, from the party who imposed the shortage. 100

Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I've always been aware that the big impact of the US blocking the straight of Hormuz, was on Europe. This chart shows the impact very clearly and I think, the real reason behind the war. Iran had agreed to all of the US nuclear demands so we know it wasn't that. It was always an attack on Europe. 151

Love all Don's innovative stuff although I still think Maziacs is not as good as his original ZX81 game. I'd struggle to say why though, possibly the scale was a little more cosy and terrifying. 110

Matt Langley @mattlangleyuk.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Because it's the emperor's new clothes. Those that invested are going to lose their shirts. There is no AI, just algorithms and the outcomes will always be those that the human written algorithms dictate. The absence of thinking through those outcomes before running them doesn't change anything. 010
