A tradition like no other. I closed down my classroom today to round out year 28. School officially ends Monday for my school and students, but my wife is having surgery that day. So, I stayed to make sure everything is ready to be finished and prepped for summer school staff and students.

Six years ago today, also a Friday the 13th, I walked out of my classroom, told the kids to be safe, and we all went home. We didn’t go back to full-time, in person school for 18 months. Students are starting to climb out of the impact of the pandemic over time. Here’s a photo from that day.

Chargers really got the better of the Hawks today. Fouts threw for four TDs (with a missed PAT ofc) and Norm Johnson supplied our only points on two field goals. Kenny Easley had the game’s only turnover with a late pick in the fourth quarter.
