So had a great weekend personally. Made my maiden league half century for this club. 52*(54). A perfect way to also celebrate my 100th appearance for the club.

Definitely feeling like this with my cricket this season. Team doing well and happy for players get their performances in but it's left me not really enjoying it 😞 Hate to feel that way but it's how it is.

Lovely ground, took my kids there last year to watch the Vipers.

Anyone watched #DayOfTheJackel yet? Just need to see if anyone who has, had the same gripes as me with it.

So I've now watched #Section31 Not really sure what I'm meant to think to be honest. Was it meant to be a pilot? Didn't seem like Trek bar a few throw away mentions and a few flash backs. Iv been a fan/supporter of all new Trek since 2009 (Trekkie long before) but this really has me split.

Agree death penalty is not the right thing for all the reasons you mention. Think people say this for people like him and child killers more so, is they are put up at tax payer cost for life. Roof, 3 ⬜ meals etc. That said, he might not last long if inmates knows what he's done.

So I'm on my rewatch if #StarTrekDS9 which I've always liked. Just found another character that it was a shame we lost. Crewman Munez. Has some good interactions across his featured episodes and was a real shame we lost him early.

Stuck for some something to buy your cricket playing or cricket loving family member? Fear not, as our supplier has a fantastic range of club kit in our club shop: portsmouth-community-cc.surridgesport.com/en Why not head over and get the one you love (or even yourself) a bit of PCCC kit for 2025.

Would any socials companies be willing to donate a prize... A subscription for a year, a signed book etc. All prize givers are given full socials highlighting across our FB, x, insta and now here. Anything is appreciated and last year we raised roughly £1400 across 3 events.

Some pre Xmas cheekiness. But don't ask, don't get. I do a lot of fundraising prize gathering for my club @portsmouthccc.bsky.social (As @themetronomescc.bsky.social what they won this year) I am looking early to try and build some prizes for our charity quiz night and beyond for the 2025 season.

This is how it should be. And how the hundred didn't need to be. Ensure all counties had a women's set up, play same teams at same time as a double header in t20 and then the only the red ball/longer WB games needed to be reviewed.

I'm using both he same. Just waiting for more to transition across. Think, despite the musk effect, X may still need to be the platform until more movement over

110

Mattbob84 @mattbob84.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

We already have an eye in that in next year or so but the volunteers for it is deffo an issue.

110

Mattbob84 @mattbob84.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

We don't just frustrating as we want to grow to colts and women's teams but we need some help in some areas but to be able to get help we need those teams.

110

Mattbob84 @mattbob84.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

We have a ground that is used by a private school (who have also control the charity trust who overseas the ground) This apparently isn't enough to class as used for community. So a school and a community based club isn't good enough to get support but a big rich southern prem club is ok for it.

120

Mattbob84 @mattbob84.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Currently @ECB_cricket grants only help clubs with kids or womens teams. These clubs tend to have money coming in already. Smaller clubs with 1 team, need support to attract and offer facilities (our club currently uses artificial track) to others but can't get help. #cricket

020

Mattbob84 @mattbob84.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Thought for the Day: Aimed at @ECB_cricket on behalf of amateur cricket clubs. Have you ever thought that smaller clubs need support with grants to help grow facilities like pitches to attract women's and colts teams. Without it, we can't grow and the big clubs just get bigger.
