Watching Deep Impact hits differently once you pass the age of 50 and you hear the President say that no-one in the general populous aged 50 or over will be selected to go to the Ark! I'm thinking damn, if this were real I'd be out of the running for sure! 🤣

Thanks to being able to pay monthly with Currys I have managed to get myself a new 3D printer. The Flashforge AD5X. This is my first model from the new machine. Still a couple of tweaks to make but I love it!

Thanks to @jamiebgall.co.uk for such an entertaining lecture on "The Science of Star Trek" tonight at the Royal Institution. Absolutely fantastic and it was great to meet Martin Quinn too!

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a cameo from William Shatner as George Samuel Kirk Sr before SNW ends? Anyone else think the same?

Wishing a very Happy 60th to one of the most ground-breaking science-fiction franchises ever to exist. Star Trek's message of hope and its belief in a future utopia is something many of us relate to as well as the in-universe Vulcan concept of IDIC- Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combination. 1/3

I can only speak for myself and how I manage my own social media. Like what you like and dislike what you dont. it crosses a line when you actively bash someone else's enjoyment. Tapping the sign: Hate Has No Home Here. 🖖🏻

Anyone know of a tee-shirt site that allows people to sell fanart etc. on shirts and other things? I'm sure teepublic used to. It's not Trek as I can't be dealing with CBS!

Anyone else going to The Science of #startrek at the #royalinstitution in September? I've not been there for many years but it's a very wonderful and historic place.

Some thoughts on watching Star Trek after the past few years. Agree or not, I no longer care. 🖖

With Strange New Worlds Season 4 starting tomorrow I just want to say this:- It is YOUR choice how and when you watch it. Do not let others make you feel bad about your choice as, quite frankly, it is none of their business.

If you choose not to watch because you do not agree with the politics of cast members, that is on you. Everyone is allowed their own thoughts and opinions whether you agree with them or not.

If you choose not to watch because you believe some episodes are problematic, again that is your choice just don't try to force it on others.

Those of you planning to watch, like me, have a great time!

LLAP 🖖

This was just posted over on Sam Neill's Official Instagram Account! I'm shocked and saddened by this!

It is with immense sadness that the whānau of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney Australia. Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life.
The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free. They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their incredible care.
More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.

For all my friends in the USA! 😉🇺🇸

Dear Citizens of The United States of America.

I am writing to offer you congratulations on the 250th anniversary of the
founding of your small nation.

I have great hopes that your next 250 years will be used to solidify your place on the World’s Stage by ridding yourself of all remaining bigotry and hatred towards anyone who is not white and heterosexual and that you learn to truly embrace the diversity of all the peoples of the United States.

I know you will find you have more in common with those who are not like you than you believe.

You all have the same needs in life. The need for sustenance, the need for
friendship and love, the need for compassion, the need to feel safe and secure in your own country, the need for respect and understanding that no-one is better or more valued than another and with that all life is precious.

Enjoy your celebrations, stay safe and open your hearts to those who are
different.

Wishing you all the best.

Signed John Hancock

PS. I think it is time you updated the Constitution. None of us believed that there would still be people naïve enough to adhere to laws, rights and customs written two and one half centuries ago.

I've just received a nice little gift in the post from the lovely people over at the NCIS studios! (Yes, I know they are possibly autopen but that doesn't matter. If a President can use autopen to sign legally binding documents because its a direct copy then that is fine by me!)
