Surgery recovery progress pics 👀 I had nullification done as a gender-affirming surgery on 9/11/26. Fresh out of surgery, it looked basically the same as what I had before thanks to the swelling. But now that it's been a couple weeks, I can actually envision it being flat in a matter of months!!

Yeah, I'm still staunchly in the "wear mask in public indoor settings" camp. I'm still protecting myself and my disabled husband, because COVID isn't gone. It genuinely sucks socially sometimes, but our health and lives matter more.

This is part of what I'm referring to with many people demanding stories that reassure them they're a good person. They want the moral instruction because otherwise, rather than processing the reading experience, there's a thrum of "am I bad? am I bad? what if someone finds out I'm bad?"

stories about abuse are allowed to exist without reducing themselves to moral instruction. i think sometimes when people complain about the “romanticization” of abuse, what they're actually objecting to isn't necessarily the way abuse is being represented, but the fact that the representation doesn't provide them with constant moral reassurance. like, there is a difference between “this story frames abuse as desirable or inherently romantic” and “this story depicts abuse in an erotic/ambiguous/complicated way and doesn't repeatedly tell me that abuse is bad, therefore the depiction itself is irresponsible.”

Idk, I don’t think this is an unsolvable paradox or anything. There are people who find feet sexy, and that’s viewed as a fetish; Since breasts are not sex organ, and a fetish is defined as attraction to a non sex organ body part or object etc, liking breasts is just a fetish too, and that’s fine

See, I fully agree that breasts are not inherently sexual. Breastfeeding in public should be fully acceptable without anybody being a freak about it. I just also grew up in a society where breasts are sexualised and am attracted to women, so unfortunately I find them hot

Therionyms & Therioilleism
a zine about animal identity by hale (but you can call us wolves)

Are you an animal? Do you think of yourself as a creature? Do you call yourself a beast?

Names have two aspects: external identifiers which are used by others and internal identifiers which you use to refer to yourself. Congurency between the two - when others think of you in the same way you think of yourself - is empowering.

Wolf, coyote, tiger, elk, fox, doe. Do any of these words >feel< like you?
Do your ears prick up when you hear them spoken?

(Yes, we can see your ears)

You are already accepting an animal name as your own. A therionym.

Ask the critters around you to call you by your animal name. Feel acknowledgem-ent spread over your pelt like warm sunlight. You are being Seen. Through this, and every moment just like this your true nature is being Observed.
Likewise, by using your packmember's therionyms you hypostatize their animal forms.
A feedback loop will grow between you.

This is a kind of power even humans take notice of. The invisible threads of our reality, our context, are made plainly audible.

It is up to you whether your therionym is a nick-name, a parallel truename, or even becomes part of a legal name.
