I think what's really crushing my spirits as a FOSS maintainer dealing with GenAI isn't just that it's there, it's how prevalent it's become and how confident it's made people who have no idea what the fuck they're talking about. It's in damn near every security alert, pull request, comment, etc.

The AI bros will smugly parrot "adapt or die" but frankly, so much of this shit I'm seeing is just...garbage. Lines of useless nothing wasting my time and cluttering my inbox. I think if I do adapt, it'll be to either stop maintaining software altogether or to limit PRs to approved contributors.
