A recent share to my youtube channel is this piece, performed at AUK's Frigg's Moot. The poem is Mothers Song, written in 1997, in alliterative verse, to celebrate our mother ancestors (of blood or adoption). #Heathen Subtitled. Video image is me with a live audience. youtu.be/PwLNgT7jkkE?...

Too hard to support the two sides of myself, I soften some. An effort to be whole even; eyes take it all in. Thought throws it all around, thronging through. Fiercely. A simple rearrangement of rules, raw re-evaluation. See me at all angles, as I can't act all of me all at once. Math Jones 2026

Why do poetic poetry call-outs for submissions turn me away so? It feels like the editors have done all the work of poeting already, & I'm being asked to write on a flowery page, instead of a plain one. #PoetrySky

Muninn as 'memory' is an almost universally accepted translation. Even so... thinking on what 'memory' is, the scale can vary from 1s & 0s on a floppy disc to a moment of such significance that it guides a life ever after, & that last, amongst soooo many moments remembered & forgot. #HeathenSky 1/2

Text of a poem, full of nonsense words: The flight of the hungalump, by Math Jones.
Text reads:
The glimp of the pixicleana,
& the glike of the horoborosch,
Had them flixing together in tempo,
Till the hungalump went Bosch!

The conductor dropped their pisola!
The composer chocked on their flosh!
& the orchestra all juckled under,
When the hungalump went Bosch!!!

This musical contra-coblation
Had the classical world all aswash,
Still, there followed a standing aplaition
For the hungalump going Bosch!!!

Yours was the last book of poetry, Did you notice? The others did not arrive. My own was too late. After, there was no stopping. We had to grab our breaths as we ran. Shouting at times the words - Poem! Song! Geste! - Ro - Ro... Romance! Folded knees, Bowed heads, clutching as before ... 1/2

The poetry calls that shout for 'your most --- ing poems, your --- est'... ...for me, they're off-putting, far from encouraging, or enticing. I wonder how others react to them. Is my poem '---ing' enough? '---est' enough? It feels like jumping for hype, & hype never serves poetry. #PoetrySky

From a place of knowing What you know, you come To think it common knowledge, Learning with some surprise That it never touched another's thought, Or crossed another's eyes... So all that time spent silent, In the know, but of no use, Was time you might have taught.
