Meanwhile I’m still getting notifications from EDHREC and Archidekt even though they haven’t been logged in on my end for 3 months

Matt Morgan @mathimus55.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Outside of the god pack news, the announcement feels very much like a nothing burger that won’t actually affect anything

Bijan Robinson might be the most fun to watch running back of this generation

JUDGE! Ok, say I have my commander Council of Reeds out with Shameless Charlatan. Reed's trigger goes on the stack and I activate Charlatan in response to have my commander become a copy of another creature.... what happens? Do I get a copy of OG Reeds or what Reeds became?

So last night we finished Monster: The Lizzie Borden story. Maybe not spoopy or a horror necessarily, but still creepy and murdery. It was...fine. It moved really slow and took five-ever to wrap up. Ryan Murphy's stuff always has pacing issues. They also did a lot of editorializing of the story

First, good for Demi Moore just saying “screw it” and going for it. Body horror isn’t normally my fav but this was creeeeepy. A sentence I never thought I’d say: wtf was that belly button scene? The ending was absurd as well, but the best horrors are also comedies. More unsettling than scary

It’s October so I guess I’ll start up my spoopy movie thread for the month. I’m freaking love horror movies, especially the c level “we have nothing to lose,” types. I’m just going to watch as many good or bad horror movies while I can, starting with tonight’s entry: The Substance

Bad news: I took apart my Council of Four deck last week. Good news: I built a new deck that is blue, and has a council in the command zone It's literally a pile of "cards I already own" with 2 exceptions. I'm excited to be rolling up to Magic Con Atlanta with at least 2 brand new decks

Matt Morgan @mathimus55.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Oh they did. I’m hoping we can put it off until after Atlanta just so I don’t have to deal recovery there

Matt Morgan @mathimus55.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I'm very excited to be able to breath out of both nostrils, that's for sure. And just be able to sleep through the night

Life the past few months has been...rough. On top of the job search going into month 3, I had an appointment with an ENT doc to find I'll likely need surgery in the next few weeks to fix a deviated septum.

0-2 dropped with a super blah gw pile. Got flown over both matches and even when I was gaining 5+ life every turn some games, it never felt great. My 2 drop slot was very weak compared to what everyone was doing. At least I got some sweet loot in my collector packs and very fancy Goyf tokens

I am and it’s probably not good

I hope someone wakes up from a 10 year coma and sees me being sad about this pull for a prerelease

Does anyone know if the prerelease packs will be faction based or generic packs?

I *mostly* agree with this. It mainly means we have to be honest with why specific cards are banned/unbanned though, which is really hard for most players to do. Lots of folks, myself included, can get some cloudy judgment

When creators do work for brands for free, they communicate to that brand and others watching that some people will work for free... so the brand begins to seek out those people. Remember that when you advocate for yourself and the value of your work, you're also advocating for others indirectly.

Dammit this really is a good Odric deck isn't it Jim?

Lots of overlap between my Kwia list and @jimtsf.bsky.social's here. Super excited to check out how it plays

150

Yep. Vaevictus has been too snowbally for brackets 2 or 3 and is too slow for b4. Squall is trying to be too cute and draws too much attention for the payoffs I'm getting and Omnath is becoming Grizzlegom

I'm really forcing myself to take decks apart that I haven't felt the urge to play lately. It feels like I've been pretty stagnant and since I'm going to MC Atlanta as a civilian(mostly) I'm hoping to roll up with all new decks.

Wife went to bed early which means it’s a quiet night watching Aaron Donald on Monday Night Football and taking decks apart to make room for new ones. Not a bad evening all things considered

Seeing Smiter has me reminiscing. Fleecemane Lion. TappedOut decklists. Standard was awful(mono black devotion) People actually played Legacy. Ultra Pro anything. Anything else from 2012 I’m missing?

This and fleecemane lion. Give me back those days.
