I appreciate ANYONE who takes the time to review + discuss my work. I do especially appreciate Bob, though — because he consistently validates the extra effort of exploring complex themes, layering worldbuilding and pushing your craft (by proving there are folks out there who value that richness).

Yeah we don’t do heaps of super direct references like that, but that one was quite intentional. BOOK ONE in particular is so much about their relationship, it seemed right to do a little shout-out to one of the most significant works in the mother/daughter drama canon!

I commissioned an IMMORTAL LEGEND BATMAN sketch cover from the great (and lovely!) @jakebartok.bsky.social! I love how it came out 😍 I’m actually collecting ILB sketch covers by Australian artists, another one on the way soon… any guesses as to who?

It’s true, after 5 years, what started with THE RISE OF ULTRAMAN… ends with THE FALL OF ULTRAMAN!

A HUGE thanks to Daniel Bayliss for joining on this issue to provide three double-page spreads (including the image above) that both provide our puzzles /and/ look absolutely STUNNING. It was a tough job, but Daniel completely crushed it 🙌

Why’s IMMORTAL LEGEND BATMAN #3 got folks saying “one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a comic” (@KaijuUnited.bsky.social) “one of the most out of the box from the big 2” (@getyourcomicon.bsky.social) “feels genuinely new for the Dark Knight” (@kpbcomics.bsky.social) ? It’s a 🧩!

IMMORTAL LEGEND BATMAN #3 is out today — and we're taking a big, weird swing. It's a story. It's more insight into what shaped our Bruce Wayne. But it's also a playable puzzle. Very curious to see/hear what you all think!

I had high hopes for Immortal Legend Batman after chatting with @matgroom.bsky.social about it. It exceeded my expectations with a fresh galactic take on our favorite caped cohort. The toku element fits it so well and immediately builds in a legacy.

So here’s one of those weird little quirks of comic scheduling…. Last week, SPIDER-VERSE VS VENOMVERSE #4 dropped. Next week, SPIDER-VERSE VS VENOMVERSE #5 drops! And then we’ll be done! Weird! Thanks to everyone who joined us on the journey! 🙏

And, of course, I shan't forget to credit writer @markwaid.bsky.social and letterer @airy.bsky.social! (Wild to think Mark Waid is the only person on this team I haven't worked with. Maybe one day!) Anyway, grab JLU #10 if you haven't already! Even ILB appearance aside, it's a blast!

I'm tremendously proud of the book. I hope you'll join us. As mentioned, the first issue drops on August 27 — but to ENSURE you'll get a copy, you've got to pre-order, and comic stores have to have their orders locked by THIS MONDAY (August 4)... so make sure you hit them up!

This intense piece by @homare0601.bsky.social! In this book, we're pushing the Batman mythos (and our abilities) to the limit. New planets, new enemies, and what I think is a genuinely new take on what it means to be Batman. I truly can't wait for you all to read it...
