I got Spitfire's BBCSO library a while ago, which is great, but not so good for doing jazzy, freeform stuff. So what I've done here is detuned & bent the notes, then combined them with actual brass samples I found on-line. I'm quite pleased with it. The sax is just synth though, so still a bit crap.

Here's the solo part of my 'Electric Guitar Concerto' (out now on bandcamp!). This is 'hybrid picking', so I'm playing the low notes with the pick & plucking the high notes with my spare fingers. The low notes are also 'palm muted' & fretted with my thumb. It's quite tricky!

The last part of the "Adagio" from my Electric Guitar Concerto (out now on bandcamp!). One thing I love with the EBow is how its sound varies depending on where on the string you place it, sometimes sounding buzzy & sometimes bringing out higher harmonics.

I get a bit carried away when playing this & have broke strings a couple of times & once only realised I'd opened a cut up on my finger after I'd finished & saw blood spattered all over the pick guard.

I was disappointed they didn't release any more David Bowie compilations following on from "The Best of David Bowie 1980/1987" so I made my own (including lots of non-album singles & B-sides) and also, using my super-duper Photoshopping skills, made a nice cover for it.

I'm coming close to finishing my 1st Electric Guitar Concerto (out some time next year!). For the slow 2nd movement I used Ebow to hold notes as long as the strings. Problem with that though is there's no way to control dynamics. So I automated the volume similar to how I do for sampled instruments.

I made the artwork for my latest release over 20 years ago (when I wrote the song). At work (when no one was looking) I made a 3D model of some basement shelves, then added glass jars, human brains & hearts, and finally rendered it in lurid colours.

After 30 years of playing I've just had my guitar refretted and set up properly. It's so much easier to play now! Through fiddling about over the years & not really knowing what I'm doing I'd managed to set the strings stupidly high.
