The Town of Athol is getting greener! The Lord Pond Plaza, formerly a parking lot, was transformed into a large area of wetlands for wildlife and the community to enjoy through the completion of the Mill Brook Crossing project funded by MVP.

When outages hit, critical facilities need to stay up and running. Today, @massgovernor.bsky.social announced more than $40 million in AMP grants to keep facilities powered, support training for first responders and local officials, and advance new energy storage technologies.

Data centers aren’t getting built in Massachusetts without permission from communities. Thanks to @massgovernor.bsky.social, data centers must bring and pay for their own clean energy and adhere to strong water, air, and community engagement standards.

In May, MA generated more electricity from solar than any other source - the first time more power was produced by renewable energy than fossil fuels! Solar keeps our lights on, AND it reduces the need to build out our grid, savings ratepayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

What does climate resilience look like? In Massachusetts, it can look like replacing an undersized culvert, restoring a salt marsh, or protecting a waterfront from coastal erosion. Last week, we awarded more than $45 million for 97 local resilience projects across the state.

Good news: Crews have successfully installed the first temporary bypass in Haverhill. This means that untreated discharges to the Merrimack River have stopped and that typical wastewater flows are being sent to the City’s treatment plant.

Protecting public health is our top priority. My team is working around the clock with the City of Haverhill to stop the wastewater discharge into the Merrimack River, monitor water quality, and restore swimming access and shellfish areas as soon as it's safe to do so.

Decades ago, a gas leak at a manufacturing site forced the evacuation of nearly a quarter of Acton’s residents. Last month, we cut the ribbon on a 7 MW solar project at the former Superfund site that will generate affordable, clean energy for the community.

Today’s temperatures are no joke, Massachusetts☀️🌡️ Here are some tips to help you beat the heat and stay safe on the first hot day of the season.
