It was a shame I messed up and didn't get a ticket for the premium concert, but I still got to see it and the DJs at the afterparty following were incredible! Between that and the rave at Dokomi, I'm reminded I really should look into going to Pon de Beats sometime~

Times newspaper opinion piece titled 'Only a plonker would call time on sozzled bonking' by Rose Wild, released on October 3rd, 2020. The general premise is that the author thought it silly that we should be cautious about sex when drunk, but making sense of her absurd headline feels like I've had one drink too many.

Some fans will absolutely be mad forever, but I think some of that will be offset when someone throws together a memesub that embodies the scanlation style - the duwang jojo subs in 2012 got a lot of love at the time, and the jojo airing then wasn't even the part duwang scans translated!

My mum had a cruel meme made of her using news footage from when she was flooded out of her house. She wasn't on FB; my stepdad and I both had our reports denied despite her being in photos on our accounts. We wrote to the content aggregator who apologised + removed it, but these doxxers sure won't.

That did turn out to be the intent! As much as the artist meant well though I feel the piece is somewhat cold; the palette is stark, the pose and expression of the subject feels awkward and ill at ease. I think those qualities drove people to assume malice as well as the main misconception.

I figure that the people who describe that as cozy read a LOT of stories with similar themes and the 'coziness' is more from a sense of familiarity than the subject matter itself. That or there are elements they can latch onto like people do with friendly detectives in gruesome murder mysteries.

I'm mostly writing this for people struggling in crummy first jobs, using nostalgic comforts of magical girl fiction to make painful topics more bearable. The hero being young captures how bosses make you feel small, but I worry it's a hard sell when YA readers often want aspirational older protags.
