This photo came up on FB from a handle I do not follow. Of course Meta doesn't find targeted hate towards women problematic. Working women aren't automatically entitled to alimony in this country. It is based on multiple factors, including the judge's discretion.

Except, it's not 'comedy of errors', is it? Jimit Jain wasn't forced to eat a chicken burger. He was billed for one due to a mistake. The staff apologised and he was offered Rs 100 as compensation. But his "mental distress" was such he took them to court asking for 2 crore.

I was warned not to keep my phone in my back pocket as someone is likely to lift it. I know I keep beating this drum, but it's 2024. Why are denim side pockets still so shallow that a standard phone sticks out of them? You can't even fit your palms in them. Why are men designing women's jeans?

She was also an unofficial counselor for many of them, went toe to toe with husbands and clerics regularly, and was fearless in carrying out what she considered the sacred duty she had to do right by these women. She did a lot of good for a lot of people when they needed it most.

My maternal grandmother, who divorced my mom's dad when she was an infant, spent the next several years as a social worker in rural New Mexico, providing contraceptives for young Mexican and indigenous women, so they didn't have to bear one child after another without having a choice in the matter.

That's my maternal grandma. Who in British colonised India went against her family's wishes (education was a privilege reserved for men; women were married off barely out of teens) to enroll in nursing. Was witness to Calcutta Medical College's first pediatric open heart surgery.
