Politics and poo, because I like beating Tories and I have crohn's (and arthritis and fibromyalgia and pompholyx and basically just a very overactive immune system).

God no. If there were 362 me’s we’d kill each other and damage lots of other people in the process.

Candidate died after last date for withdrawal of nominations. Election delayed, has to be rerun within 35 days. Dead candidate obv replaced and new candidates can be nominated, but all other ones stay the same

Having a puppy means changes to life. I can no longer yell at the guests talking bollocks on Keunsberg because it wakes him up and scares him

Meet Chester. On his first day with us he has managed to pee and poop on his puppy pad, and decided that despite us buying ALL the puppy toys, his favorite thing to play with is the man’s shoelaces.

Ukraine has fought too hard for its freedom, only to have its future dictated by Putin and Trump behind closed doors. Any peace must guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and security on terms acceptable to Ukrainians, not just to Moscow and Mar-a-Lago.

I worked (part time, from home) for a year. I loved the work, but I developed 3 new symptoms of autoimmune disease (for which I am still waiting hospital appointments. Work does not solve everything

I was also non consensually groped by: The pantomime dame in my am dram when I was 14 (I mean he was dressed up as a woman but was totally a cis man) The guy running a narrowboat charity for teenagers whilst teaching me to steer My first boss in a pub in London.

I was once groped by a trans woman in the toilets of MGM nightclub in Nottingham in the 90’s. With my full consent though and she was super hot.

I think of it as like my obstetric cholestasis. The genetic propensity to it was always there, but it didn’t come to fruition until I got pregnant. (And the result of the illness was worth suffering it)

Even better tip - get onto the mailing list of an out of London gallery. I get freebie tickets offered from galleries in Cambridge, Suffolk and Cornwall every year well in advance

At least 8 kids in her class of 20 at private ex-grammar school were similarly dyslexic/dyspraxic/autistic and above average IQ. Wonderful weirdos the lot of them

Yep. At 7 my daughter had reading age of 3, maths age of 12+ and state school said no need (or capacity) to help her. Private school got her remedial help and more importantly made her feel happy at school. She also got extra time which compensated for her slow reading speed (in all subjects)

David Lynch was the reason I successfully learned how to tie a knot in a cherry stalk with my tongue, and unsuccessfully tried to learn to talk backwards . He was also the reason I learned it was OK to be weird. RIP

And you aren’t meant to wind up parliamentarians? Oops. Was not aware of that rule (Also, mark is a parliamentarian now isn’t he? Genuinely don’t know if he has to do some sort of process first?)

The Conservative party is now using the grooming gangs scandal to raise money for itself. A reminder that Kemi Badenoch's spokesman admitted yesterday that she hasn't even bothered to speak to any of the victims, and doesn't see the need to.

Or their journey to LibDems in a seat where they are the challengers to Tories. Left/centre people seem far more willing to vote tactically

If you use your library, please share.

Channels my amazing therapist: Hmm. It’s interesting that you read better *at* relationships when I wrote better *in* relationships. Seriously- I hope this is as transformative for you as it has been for me.

It is. But it gets better. And you don’t HAVE to talk about your feelings. You can just learn to feel ok about being in a relationship with your therapist, and use that to make you better at being ok in relationships with other people. And when that happens, life gets better

It’s really sad to see people with relative privilege dismissing the fears of disabled and chronically ill people. But then it’s something we are used to with every doctors appointment.

And to pick up a point in the article - actually, if people are asking for abortions because there isn’t decent maternity care in place then the answer is to put decent maternity care in place not to enable them to have abortions

It’s a good thing - if there is decent, and accessible healthcare in place. If all medical avenues to make someone better have been exhausted, they should be allowed to choose to die. But so often people aren’t getting decent healthcare that can help them to live

My annual rant against a feminist campaign. We don’t need to “ask her to stand” We need to “make it feasible for her to stand” We do that by reforming council chambers and parliament to not be geared to the lives of men with supportive partners. Fix the systemic misogyny so she wants to stand

I still think they should have done these as trading cards. You get one random card every 10 voter contacts or delivery round. “I’ll trade you a Josh Babarinde and an Ian Sollom for a Jennie the dog”
