Post-Carcass Front Naval Raider expansion experimentation. Because of the scale difference between Trench Crusade plastic and historical models, I've been looking for anything close in scale. One port of interest could be adapting some 'Turnips in Charge' from Turnip28 to run as Wretched.

Leviathal Chorus update! I think regarding the assembly and modelling, I think I'm going to call it done here. I experimented adding a few "final details" but everything I tried just looked wrong and muddied up the readability unpleasantly, so now to move onto the painting stage.

Yep that's @qsy.bsky.social 's artwork. I think it is the best fan art of the force so far. When it comes to Ethiopian history, it's a bit hard to blend traditional clothing and WW1.

Lot of exciting campaigns coming up for me: A local Carcass Front starts in two weeks (we had so many members we've had to make two groups). Spire, which I'll be GMing. A return to Baldur's Gate multiplayer, with one player likely playing The Dirge. Two Monster of the Week one-shots as a player.

A quick little break from my other projects to wrap up on these Trench Crusade riflemen. I'm not entirely happy with these, as the motivation behind their creation was necessity, not inspiration. I'll probably rework these at some point down the line, but for now they'll be fine on the tabletop.

Trench Crusade Carcass Front kitbash continues! The weathering is finished, using various citadel texture pastes and liquid Greenstuff, with PVA to make bits more crackly. I've put the Anointed on the back burner for now, as I'm still working out how I want it to look.

Trench Crusade Carcass Front kitbash continues! Started doing some weathering; on top of the previous Greenstuff stippling, I've added some subtle Astrogranite to the metal (possibly too subtle in most areas), and some PVA and Mordant Earth for a peeling effect.

Just realised, if I convert a couple of my Prussians with flamethrowers into Naval Heretics, along with find 10 Naval Wretched with boarding axes (I'll likely need to find proxies to kitbash), then I could have a full campaign list for a Drowned Choir warband.

More work on the Leviathal Chorus. The sculpting is rough, mostly just reinforcing the armature wire and locking in some elements. Miliput is quite handy for this. If for some reason I want to undo these, some clippers can shatter the miliput off as a near perfect undo.

Bit of basing work on my Leviathal Chorus proxy. I've removed some parts from the model as I start building out the internal wirework that'll support the kitbash. Currently trying to decide if I should sculpt the fabric (like most of my Carcass Front Heretics) or lean into real fabrics.

Trench Crusade Carcass Front kitbash continues! Not sure if I should add fabrics to all the Naval Heretics (something I had as a unifying element in my previous Naval Heretics), but with this model it felt very fitting. Also helps distract and cover up the fact there's only one leg on this model.

This is why I always recommend blocking out a kitbash before gluing parts together where possible. The head and mine together is interesting, but for this model it's still notably too small. I can't think of anything I have to hand which would work well for this, might need to try sculpting instead

Carcass Front terrain update; I've mostly finished assembling them, with a couple of bits I want to sculpt replacement bits I had plans for future projects. I've also given them cardboard bases so I can theme them to match my Carcass Front Naval Heretics. I've also attached magnets for transport.

Loved experimenting with wires - the left one is done gardening wire wrapped around more gardening wire, and the one connecting to the head is guitar string. The guitar string has less texture than I was hoping, would probably require careful pruning and a very careful wash to bring out the details
