After 9 hours of printing, turns out I should've checked what the slicer output before hitting print 🙃 All the weird looking bits are empty layers because the geometry was messed up. All I had to do was press the "repair" button... I also ran out of black halfway through and many parts broke off

With some better support structures while printing, I'm sure I can make a non-broken keycap. If all goes well, I can make an entire set! I also feel very very fortunate that I have a tiny knife whose blade is almost EXACTLY the width of a Cherry MX stem to fix any imperfections from the print.

I took the plunge and finally got a 3D printer. My current experiment: Printing Distorted Ellipsoidal Saddle keycaps for my keyboard! Left: 0.4mm nozzle Middle: 0.2mm nozzle Right: 0.2mm nozzle, but printed at 45° angle The right one feels buttery smooth, but broke off while printing.

PSA: Split keyboards are great. They are better for your shoulders and hands, and the added space inbetween can be great for putting things you often use, such as your phone. A soda glass is not one of those things.

I tried coming up with a type-safe solution so that shader input / output types all match each other and so that the input vertex and primitive type of the shader program match the vertex and primitive type of the vertex array. This solution forced me to write 8 base classes for "ShaderList".

Here you can see the transpiled GLSL code. It gets run through the GLSL validator made by the Khronos Group and for every error it finds, it takes the error location and maps it back to the original C# code to display in Visual Studio like in the previous image.

I just made a working C# source generator and analyzer that automatically transpiles C# shader code to GLSL at compile time and then runs it through the GLSL validator to show you compilation errors that you would otherwise only notice at runtime when instantiating the shader!

I also found that when my Switch Pro Controller is connected, navigating the menu using WASD or the arrow keys is bugged. It works again as soon as the controller is disconnected. Controlling the actual player works perfectly fine though.

I was testing the game on another device when I found another bug where part of the game screen is cut off. This is on a Surface Go at a resolution of 1800x1200 at 150% DPI scaling. Which is weird, because I played on a high DPI monitor on my desktop PC too and that worked fine.

It becomes even worse when I try to use an actual joystick. As you can see in the video, most of the time the input seems to either not get recognized or overridden by the constant top-left movement. The device I'm using is an Azeron Cyborg, which uses XInput by default I believe.
