It's not about me, It's about CREATORS.' Says man in what appears to be the most 'it's about me' thing ever created. Jesus Christ. was this made by The Onion? 'What I do is for YOU' Really? I don't recall being consulted.

Seems to be a flurry of 'artists needed' posts on Instagram at the moment, so I've responded to a few. Might not go for this one though. They're probably looking for art that makes people feel, y'know... better.

Gorgeous spooky nonsense gifted me for my birthday by sister Jo. She knows me so well.

Lovely to hear from Holly T Burrows at The Cartoon Museum that my scribbly picture of the place has been turned into a postcard and a fridge magnet and they've been selling well. Might even get royalties. Well worth a visit to the shop, a lot of treasure there unavailable anywhere else.

We're told that China and the US are in a kind of arms race to create the first real self aware AI, and that whoever gets there first will have some massive advantage, but if either of them realise this goal, would the resulting entity actually consider itself 'American' or 'Chinese'? Why?

And of course you will spend a day looking for a lost debit card and you will finally give up and report it lost/stolen to the bank and then you will almost immediately find the thing under the bed. For this is the way of things, and will forever be so.

New through the door and hot off the presses. 'Drunk and Drawn', an art zine of posters I'll have on the table for LICAF and such It's very pretty, but I forgot to include the "thanks" box in the credits so I feel like a bit of a heel.

It's the Markfield Road Festival again, a neat little burst of art and music and beer and all that happening over this weekend near me. Highly recommend walking around the Gaunson House studios open house. So many great painters and printmakers and such to walk around with a glass of wine or three.

Chris Hedges talks to Derf Backderf about his new book the Dissidents, always interesting to hear cartooning discussed outside of it's modern, much reduced context. This stuff used to MATTER.

The Lies of the Saints is a family history built on a legacy of deceit. Spanning the centuries from 1660 to the present day, every page records the falsehoods that mark and define the members of the Saint family, and how they echo up and down the family tree. stripforme.bigcartel.com

Dolly Parton would often mention that her seldom seen husband, Carl Thomas Dean wasn't much into country music and preferred heavy metal. Which makes me wonder-what was Dolly Parton's favourite Slayer album? i mean , we can all assume that it was Reign In Blood , but do we know that for a fact?

On reflection, i don't believe that Pirhana DD is as good a film as Jean Renoir's 1939 film La Règle du Jeu, and I'm sorry if I ever gave the impression that i thought this to be so.

Had a dream in which there was an advert for a toy robot, of the classic Japanese walking robot kind, but a major selling point of this one was that it featured transparent plastic legs that you could fill with live maggots. In the advert in the dream everyone was very enthusiastic about this.

Ooof. Nothing like sorting out travel and accommodation for LICAF and Thought Bubble to make you consider your life choices. Let's hope I sell some art, eh?

Love the photo Sean Azzopardi took of me, Gareth Hopkins and Douglas Noble after Goshfest yesterday. Looks like we're about to release some glitchy drone synth . Vinyl only.

I'll be at this for the end of the month, probably in the cherished 'fill the last table with geezers' spot alongside the usual suspects. Usually a good time, Saturday 28th after Friday's 'Drink and Draw.'

Few photos taken at ARC. A busy, buzzy weekend of comics and chat and art and beer in beautiful downtown Peckham. Pretty wonderful all round. I do hope it happens again.

Mark Stafford @marxtafford.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

It is hot hot hot on the first day of ARC , and the crowds keep coming. I think we can already call this one a success. I'm at table 20b, but have subtly seized territory from next doors no-shows. I doubt anyone can tell...

Mark Stafford @marxtafford.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

So the coming weekend is all about A.R.C., a new comics festival in Peckham and other locations. There's a gallery show, a party, talks and workshops and 2 days of fabulous comics types flogging whatever they've got. I'm doing the Drink and Draw on Friday and have a table Sat/Sun See you there!x

Spent hours today fretting that my Wacom Cintiq had gone down, trying various solutions I found online and getting frustrated and angry when none of them worked. Then i realised that my chair leg had pulled an HDMI lead out. Gnargh.
