Golden Wednesday. That was quite an unexpected end to my morning walk. After going up Glastonbury Tor in torrential rain, I was on my way home and the sky cleared in seconds!

Some of the best sunrises are those that make you wait a little while and make you glad you stayed. Quiet reflection and being in the moment. This morning's sunrise on Glastonbury Tor did just that.

One of the most transformational telescopes of modern time has reached another major milestone—200,000 orbits around Earth. Hubble’s observation from that day is a part of its defining legacy, measuring the expansion rate of the universe: go.nasa.gov/4h812b9 🔭
Dozens of galaxies on the black background of space observed by Hubble. Most of the galaxies are small white splotches. Some galaxies are more oval shaped, others are circular. Toward the center-left is a larger, fuzzy white oval.

Hubble has observed many Messier catalog items over 35+ years, including the Orion Nebula, the Omega Nebula, globular star cluster Messier 75, and galaxy Messier 109. Scroll through Hubble’s Messier images, and find your favorite: go.nasa.gov/3Ui2kHl 🔭

The image showcases vibrant blues, with bright stars scattered throughout the nebula.Messier 75: A densely packed star cluster, known as Messier 75 (M75), fills the image. The center radiates brightly with numerous stars, surrounded by a halo of smaller, glimmering stars. The UK will experience a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday 12 August. The extent of the Sun's coverage and the timing of maximum obscuration will differ across the country. Never look directly at the sun; use a pinhole projector or certified eclipse glasses to view it.
Map on UK showing how much of the sun will be obscured by the moon, at maximum, during the solar eclipse on Wednesday 12th of August. this ranges from 88% in the east to 98% in the southwest.

#PPOD: The largest and most detailed photo ever made of our Milky Way galaxy’s center in visible light is revealed in this cutout image from the European Space Agency’s Euclid mission. Packed with more than 60 million stars... 🧪 🔭
A wide, horizontal view shows a densely packed field of tiny stars. The left side is dominated by bright yellow and gold colours, with only a few dark patches interrupting the glow. Moving towards the right, the image becomes darker and more mottled, with larger irregular black and brown areas cutting into the star-filled background. Subtle purple and reddish tones appear toward the upper right, while small blue points of light are scattered across the scene.
