The #Aspen #trees are turning #golden in the #Colorado high country. We stayed in a #cabin near #treeline above #Montezuma for 2 days, and when we came back down the hill were surprised by how much the foliage had changed in that short time. This #Hawk's mate was injured by a larger #bird in our back yard a few minutes ago. The injured bird was clinging to a sheltered part of our eaves, with a wing that looked askew. The mate stayed right there. About 20 minutes later they were both gone. They were #Cooper's or #SharpShinned Hawks.
