This #Hawk's mate was injured by a larger #bird in our back yard a few minutes ago. The injured bird was clinging to a sheltered part of our eaves, with a wing that looked askew. The mate stayed right there. About 20 minutes later they were both gone. They were #Cooper's or #SharpShinned Hawks.

Seljalandsfoss. 9x12 original pastel painting. Martha and I visited Seljalandsfoss waterfall in Iceland this past September. These falls are of a mind-blowing scale. They fall 197 ft, similar to a 15 story office building, roaring as it desends.
