More a series of interesting situations raising thorny topics than a great movie - but seems they can all agree that no one wants a gay daughter.

DID SOMEONE HAPPEN TO MENTION ME? Koji Yakusho stars in Netflix’s meta comedy series, about a superstar actor who returns home to discover that everyone in Japan has forgotten him. The mechanics don’t make much sense but the execution is largely entertaining. www.scmp.com/lifestyle/en...

Review | Koji Yakusho is forgotten in Netflix comedy Did Someone Happen to Mention Me?
Koji Yakusho plays a famous Japanese actor who is suddenly forgotten by his nation as a vaccine’s side effect.

WILD HORSE NINE: undeniably familiar territory for McDonagh - ironic considering the setting - but still hugely satisfying. Laugh out loud funny, punchy political satire, delicately poignant, and ultimately very very sad. As you may have heard, Malkovich is fantastic (as is everyone else).

Just had a wonderful chat with the iconic Zhou Xun and director Gu You about their new film THE FIRST TASTE OF LONELINESS, which saw her close to tears one minute, running round the room the next, as she acted out how she manoeuvred through an audacious 20+ minute oner. Interview in SCMP soon.

This has been an ongoing issue in HK for a long time. I used to screw with them too, but now I just ignore the call. If you answer or hang up, it tells them that the number is active. If you talk to them there’s a chance they can use AI to map your voice. Scary but true. Best to ignore completely.
