Ridley Scott’s THE DOG STARS is aggressively unremarkable, stubbornly refusing to stray outside the lines of the decade’s most overcooked genre. Characterisation is threadbare and the narrative so scant that on the one or two occasions it does attempt something interesting, the tone jars horribly.
