Ah yeah, the Battlefield IP. It's a very special one about ... *checks notes* soldiers on a battlefield shooting each other.

Marloges's review of Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth | Backloggd
Probably the weakest Ace Attorney game that I've played, but I can't say that I didn't enjoy it regardless. Main issue with this one is probably the final case. Usually these games end on a really hig...

Also did the thing. Honestly really hard to pick just 9 when there's so many genres and eras. Tried to confine it to games that got me into specific genres and somewhat changed my viewpoint on gaming, but there's plenty more.

Why does it always have to be the Skywalkers? They really go out of their way to make their entire universe feel incredibly small. Imagine doing 12 movies about one family when your setting is space.

97) Daisy's Crazy Adventure A really well done hack for Super Mario World. Not too high in difficulty but not too easy either. They did a great job constantly introducing new gimmicks and the soundtrack (stolen from other games tbf) is pretty neat too. Worth giving a look.

96) Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Finally got around to playing this one. I really liked it, especially how the final case tied everything together in a really satisfying way. Also liked all the new characters kind a bit like Trucy and Klavier. Just didn't care for the Bracelet mechanic.

95) Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix After getting all Achievements on the vanilla version I had to do Final Mix too. That RA list was a true beast, demanding pretty much everything you can do in this game. But it was really fun. Now I just have to do a Level 1 run at some point ...

In my place they aren't :( But yeah, I'm sure tons of people won't go out of their way to watch them even if they have the opportunity. Because old.

I wish they would be more easily accessible. I only watched a bunch of them because my local library had some. Couldn't watch Sanjuro because the DVD was too fucked up, lol. Could of course find them in the high seas, but not everyone does that.

I don't mind either option, but it depends on the execution I guess. In Dead Rising for example I think the real time timer works well, since you can explore, gather items and level up in that time and that is also a decision. But at the same time it's not a *huge* open world.

More people need this realization. Time limits can solve so many problems modern games have. They add meaning to choices, they add replay value and you can prevent getting to powerful by engaging with the side content. Even makes the urgency of the main story more believable.

This is how I learned that DQ4 has a PS1 version, lol. Luckily it's not one of the games with asterisks, I guess? 😅

As long as cool games as this one exist in the indie market, I'm fine with AAA companies fucking themselves🚬

The first Metroid would be enjoyable if there was a good way of replenishing your health. But farming enemies for multiple minutes just to get to full health is super annoying.

Played the original. And yeah, it was quite frustrating towards the end. They got really stingy with medipacks and love to throw tons of enemies at you. Luckily the actual final boss was a joke.

94) The Thing I never played this one before, but it's pretty neat. The squad mechanic is very ambitious and fun to use when you actually get the chance, but lots of times you're all on your own or only have like 1 companion. Later sections are also a bit frustrating. But overall a fun time.

93) Jak & Daxter The RetroAchievements list had a cool challenge run to collect 25 orbs or less over the course of the game and it was a nice spin on the game. Some sections were pretty annoying that way, but overall it added a nice layer of difficulty. Still a great game too!

92) Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando Still really fun! I think I still prefer the first one overall, but I really like how the series went forward with this one. The weapon leveling is a neat idea and introducing strafing adds to the combat system.

91) Ben10 (Sega Megadrive) If you're confused then for good reason, because this is a Russian Bootleg game for the Megadrive and it's complete shit. There are only three enemy types in this whole game and one combo you can do. And every enemy does the same singular attack. 🙂

90) Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy Short 2D Brawler on the Neo Geo CD. Didn't do all that much for me, it definitely looked very charming, but the jumping felt very unresponsive and games where you can just infinitely continue with no consequences tend to not hold my interest for long. But yeah.

Honestly really cool I can be excited about Square games again. The FF Resonance demo was really good, KH4 will be a fun time (hopefully I don't have to wait for a DLC for it to be *great* though) and FF7 Revelation will be a blast. Hopefully DQ12 will be great as well.

It just kind of bothers me that the newest version will be the new default for most people. But I guess even that is kind of silly if I'm being honest.

Damn, the teaser already looked bad, but this remake looks actually NASTY. I hate looking at it.

Marloges @marloges.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
I honestly don't mind. The Remakes are adapting the story of the main game and add some new stuff to it, but there's still a lot of stuff left to uncover. I'll gladly get to a point where the Dirge of Cerberus ending gets picked up after all these years. Just hope mainline gets good again as well.

Nobody should get that much money for acting in a movie and doing some promotion

Marloges @marloges.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
lol yeah, this isn't even a game where you're creating a self-insert avatar and choose your romantic interest or anything (even that should be completely fine, it's virtual lol), it's literally just a pre-determined relationship to interact with. That makes it extra silly.

89) Tony Hawk's Underground Another Underground run! This time I went through a Zero Stats run, which is exactly what it sounds like. Basically a hacked save that prevents you from raising your stats and you start with zero. Makes some goals really tough but it was really rewarding to beat that way

88) Power Stone (Dreamcast) Played through the Dreamcast version too, which is pretty much the same but has more options and unlockable characters. Definitely the better option compared to Arcade. Still not HUGE on this game, but it's decent.

87) Roboquest Really fun first person Rogue-lite with a banging soundtrack and a variety of characters and builds. Really fast paced and fun, been enjoying this in two player coop lately. Still didn't get old after multiple runs!

86) Ratchet & Clank Still a real banger of a game. I know later entries have more fluid combat, but I like that this one stands out as the more awkward one that has you cheese around with your weapons more. Also probably the best level design in the series?

91.8% of players, having waited nearly 20 years for MGS4 to be playable on anything other than PS3, booted the game and immediately made a beeline for a statue's dick

Right? I was looking at the leaks out of boredom and was like "Yup, this sure looks like current gen GTA". I'd get it if there were some serious story spoilers being leaked or something.

007: First Light, but I only played a handful of new games. I expect Trails to push it off it's throne. Genuinely really cool game though, just not quite GotY material.

85) Mortal Kombat Deception Back on PS2 this was always my favorite MK. Before online play having a lot of offline content was pretty important to me and this one offered a good amount of fun modes. Was also neat to revisit the Konquest mode which was a nice novelty idea.

84) Pepsiman Didn't think I would play this game ever again, but people voted it for Achievement of the Week, so I went through it again, lol. Took less than an hour, so didn't really hurt. It's a very simplistic game, basically the original temple run. Not much to say about it tbh.

83) Darkstalkers 3 Bit of a technicality since I just beat Arcade Mode once. I played some Darkstalkers in my childhood but never got into the series. This replay didn't really motivate me to go further either. Just not really made for 2D fighters I think.
