Also did the thing. Honestly really hard to pick just 9 when there's so many genres and eras. Tried to confine it to games that got me into specific genres and somewhat changed my viewpoint on gaming, but there's plenty more.

Why does it always have to be the Skywalkers? They really go out of their way to make their entire universe feel incredibly small. Imagine doing 12 movies about one family when your setting is space.

More people need this realization. Time limits can solve so many problems modern games have. They add meaning to choices, they add replay value and you can prevent getting to powerful by engaging with the side content. Even makes the urgency of the main story more believable.

Honestly really cool I can be excited about Square games again. The FF Resonance demo was really good, KH4 will be a fun time (hopefully I don't have to wait for a DLC for it to be *great* though) and FF7 Revelation will be a blast. Hopefully DQ12 will be great as well.

I honestly don't mind. The Remakes are adapting the story of the main game and add some new stuff to it, but there's still a lot of stuff left to uncover. I'll gladly get to a point where the Dirge of Cerberus ending gets picked up after all these years. Just hope mainline gets good again as well.

I never actually played the original NES version of FF before and ... I sure don't recommend that one! Honestly, from a historical standpoint this is a pretty great game. Liked it more than the first DQ for sure. But it has lots of stuff that makes it a bit frustrating to go back to.

The game has some good replay value, but it kinda sucks how you can't skip some of the walking segments. I wanted to replay parts of the bazaar part to solve some challenges, but it always involved some annoying walking. And restarting checkpoints sends you all the way back.

007 First Light feels really refreshing by just being a game that didn't use any A.I. and actively tells an anti A.I. story about some tech billionaires that are all about the "progress of humanity" while really just being petty criminals. Good stuff.

Finished the Onimusha demo and it's exactly as I feared it would be. Barely feels like an Onimusha game and more like the developers really liked Nioh and had to shoehorn the Onimusha IP into their project. It's not terrible or anything, but this is not the revival of Onimusha I wanted.

I love PS2 as much as the next guy but accounts and log-ins don't hurt you. Just means you can play with other people and use the store for some cheap indie games! No day-one patch isn't a good thing. Plenty of games were just buggy for ever. Games without battle pass and roadmap are easy to find.

TIL after like 25+ years that Spyro 3 has adaptive difficulty, lol. Only found out about this since I tried to do the bosses with no damage and killed myself when I fucked up that they get easier after about 5-ish deaths. Good chance I had that happen as a child and simply didn't realize.
