But even with those odds, my average of 944 is staggeringly high and I’m averaging 6996 per shiny across 57 this year at 8192 odds. And on top of that, it’s my preference to hunt at the base odds, primarily in 8192 games. Even if I could, I wouldn’t increase my odds!

Yup, i’m shiny hunting! But unfortunately in the games i’m hunting in, Fire Red Leaf Green, the odds are a flat 1/8192 with no way to alter them. While in Gen 4 with Diamond Pearl Platinum, certain dates you mentioned will increase or decrease the encounter speeds for pokemon but not the odds iirc.
