the Supreme Court should be treated as though it were a part of the Constitution. So the Constitution is not just that small document, you have to learn about 100 cases (there is a book that contains those). Any comments/corrections welcomed

The US is a Country that is formed within a Constitution. All government officials have to swear to abide by it. In the Warren Court they established that the 5th Amendment applied to individuals by incorporation into the 14th. In Marbury vs Madison they established a decision by...

I always found it confusing as to how you gained your "Miranda Rights", put another way I couldn't recall any English Law that worked the same way. In England some some Laws now get a name but nothing comes close to Miranda

Film4 just showed Miranda's Victim. Well worth a watch, a drama set around the rape of Patricia "Trish" Weir. Granted anonymity for her trials, at the end of the movie Tricia allows her name to be public knowledge

"Miranda's Victim" is a movie that told the story of how Miranda rights were established as a constitutional right. Those rights were established on a man's case whom was eventually found guilty of a heinous crime against a young woman. Rights only work if it applies to everybody, all the time.

The Post Office told wrongly-accused postmasters that their compensation offers were secret, and couldn't be shown to anyone. That was false. The Solicitors Regulation Authority was about to prosecute the lawyers responsible. But now it's dropped the case, and won't say why.
Having considered the representations and other information received from the Firm we have decided to close the investigation. Our view is that the Firm exercised proper professional judgment when coming to a decision on the legal position as regards the explanation of the “without prejudice” label in the correspondence that was sent to sub-postmasters relating to the Horizon Shortfall Scheme.

The SRA will close the matter with no further action.

The way I read it is that US has, this century, switched to refineries that deal with light crude oil. Although the US has the similar heavy crude oil they have to export it

Back in the Autumn of 2024, I gave the Hamlyn Lectures. This was academic lawyer nerd heaven. It involves turning those same lectures into a book. That book is now out in open access (free - thanks to the generosity of the Economic and Social Research Council, who fund the Post Office Project). You can find it here. As well as developing the lectures as chapters, in essence the last three chapters of the book, I wrote an extended account of the lawyer bits of the Post Office Scandal itself.
