Yep. It's a "liberal bubble" because, at least until now, assholes aren't welcome.

This is why I pay for the World Wide Web. Because it delivers ART!

Remember how hard the cable companies fought a la carte selections? Notice how much I'm paying for multiple streaming services to get history, science, cycling and anime without the golf, WWF and 700 club?

More importantly, they don't care what you think, they're going to force you to do it their way and pretend you asked for it.

Curious. When I *describe* the style of ttrpg I like to play, I often use the phrase "improv story telling" but when I *label* it I say "role playing game". So, I'm with you. I think they're watering down in a counterproductive way.

My wife and I have shifted back to Eastern Time sleep, so we're watching the Friday rebroadcast at noon. My eyes are averted. Carry on 😁

End executive pay in securities. Pay them cash from the balance. If they want stock they can buy it like anyone else.

I'm with George, despite not liking GoT at all. If you got a book when you paid for a book, his obligation to you is complete. He owes no one anything that's not in a contract and that doesn't include the readers.

Mrs McGovern was both behind and ahead of her time. She had a Continental model of teaching: French instead of Chinese or Japanese, but she had a very liberal arts view of early childhood education: a lot of repetition and memorization, but modern in that she used song and rhyme and group recitation

Oh I wish we'd had one. I had preschool in the 60s with French immersion because Mrs McGovern thought all kids should learn another language

Meh. Like what you like "good" has never had anything to do with it. "Quality" is how snobs boost their egos.

Stupid storm is trending too far north for me to get a good light show. The sound check is good though.
Dark skies as I sit under the canopy on my deck looking at lightning live maps an hope the storm turns just a bit south #iloveboomers

CEOs who want to own stock should have to buy it. Require companies to pay officers in cash. No more funny money. You can only pay them with money you have. Incentivize officers for profits, not growth.

It's a lot of work for them but I like the idea cr is doing of condensed eps edited down. Of course many others (like d20 ) are already curated and edited.

I'm always surprised people don't. I shocked a mortgage broker once by reading the entire document while we (my wife and I) discussed it with him and came back with 5 questions. Him: "Did you just read that whole thing?" Me: "Yeah. Doesn't everyone?" Him: .. I don't think I'm weird. Am I weird?

And I think that the majority of people, seeing a complete stranger in immediate distress, without other context, would try to help without asking "which side are you on". It's mostly only when framed with politics or clear tribal boundaries that the worst appears.

We do. We all do. I have to actively catch myself when I respond that way. I wish more people would try to recognize it in themselves and respond.

That is really the difference between the philosophy of the two groups. But it's not universal. Part of why I am rather a less hopeful about elements of the future is from observing how people I otherwise respect respond to the personal misfortune of people on the other side.
