Strange Fruit — Mark Hillyer
About a year or so ago, there was a sudden urgency for people to display their '“love for their country” by hanging flags off anything that stood still for 10 minutes. That love, it appears, faded ...

A few weeks ago, we had a day in London. I walked the streets with no goal in mind, except to drink lots of coffee and go to the Wes Anderson thing at the Design Museum. It turned out to be 35 degrees...I didn't drink that much coffee. #photography www.markhillyer.co.uk/blog/wanderi...

I had several errands to run the other day. Unfortunately, the first one was dropping my van in for a service 3 miles away and walking back home, before heading into Leeds. 1/2 #photography #documentaryphotography #walking

Between work and family, I’ve not really managed much time for anything else but I’m finally starting to get a grip on the #polaroidi2. I’m starting to get a bit nearer to what I wanted to achieve with it and 5 shots I like, out of a pack of 8 is my best hit rate so far !!. #filmphotography

A few more photographs from my recent trip to the Isle of Man. The day before the wedding, I had the opportunity to have a guided tour of Peel on a lovely, sunny morning. Being somewhere new is always inspiring. #thephotohour #photography #isleofman

Doing a bit more clearance at my mums house, I found a box of old stuff in the loft, which included a photo of my mum that I’d never seen before, and a book of state of the art (c1977/78) cars. Treasure from 6 year old me and for 56 yr old me.

Hole in a fence. There’s not a lot more to say about it really, other than I think what drew me to it was the structured lines of the building against the chaotic lines of the hole torn in the wire fence. #leeds #documentary #photography

Finally starting to get on top of the work pile and the life issues that have been swallowing my time up for the last few months and getting back to some project work. Tunstall, on the Yorkshire coast is a perfect example of a settlement that’s struggling against the erosion of the coastline.

I picked up a #polaroid I-2 to have a play with, potentially for a project I was thinking about doing in the near future. It’s a love/hate relationship so far, but I think it’s more to do with me needing more practice and knowing what to expect from the film…
