Watching Spurs play lovely football and score a hat full of goals…I could get used to this. #COYS

Why did I watch MOTD? I'm not sure what I was expecting. For Shearer to say Spurs were unlucky? For the highlights to somehow look better than I remembered? It was worse. Our defending was weak against a very average Villa side. 😭

Oh good. Coventry above us in the league as it stands.

I think we might have the answer to both now.

We've been so sloppy in the final third today. Poor touches, silly offsides, wayward crossing, and a general lack of precision. It feels like those things will come, the question is when.

Just what F1 needs - another track where it's impossible to overtake. 🥱

Today was fairly shit, but there were some positives. We looked really good in the first half. We showed signs of building patterns, especially a few lovely interchanges through midfield that got us into the final 3rd. Our depth looks great; we’re just waiting for a lot of players to build fitness.

Tonali’s relatively slow start this season probably looks worse because Bentancur is playing so well. He's been excellent again so far today.

Buying good footballers might actually work. We should do it more often.

Our final 2 signings may be a little underwhelming, but I'm choosing to be positive. Whilst I'd rather have kept big Kev, Tosin is an OK last-minute backup, & his ability on the ball feels more like a De Zerbi CB. Mudryk is a big gamble but has potential & being a loan + option mitigates the risk.

Looks like Mudryk could be a tricky deal.

Ndiaye would be great, a big upgrade on Tel. Our attacking options would be superb…apart from at 9. If Solanke gets injured, which is likely, Marmoush isn’t a long-term option as a lone striker. Add Danso’s situation, & we could be 2/3 injuries away from disaster. www.nytimes.com/athletic/733...

Ndiaye had also been the subject of interest from Man City, who are in talks over a move for Spurs target Cody Gakpo.

Not a great result obviously, but a much improved performance from Brentford. If we keep up that rate of improvement, we’ll be fine.

Good result and 2nd half performance in particular. Despite Moore’s goal and some good play, it shows why he needs to improve. Same for Tel. Savio showed in 15mins what that added quality and experience should bring. Add Marmoush and we won't be far off. Fernandes 👌

It's easy to forget what a class act Udogie is. I know it's limited opposition, but we feel like a better side with Udogie starting.

If we’re looking for silver linings, this is all I’ve got: - Highlights the urgent need for attacking signings - Shows we need a proper RB backup - Shows Bergvall where to improve to stay - Many players missed pre-season & today - we’ll improve with more games & key players back - Brentford are good

I've just seen De Zerbi’s comments about Djed & how disappointed he is. It was spot on; he's barely put a foot wrong in the media so far. He seems to understand the club & the fans. I agree, if you don't want to stay at one of the biggest clubs in the world & fight, we’ll find someone who does.

Decent World Cup for Spurs. 🏆 Porro returns a world champion & Spain’s first-choice RB. ⭐ Spence was one of the tournament’s breakout stars. 🥈 Romero and Senesi both appeared in the final, while Van Hecke, VDV and Danso impressed. Bergvall gained valuable experience and raised his stock/value. #COYS

The main reason I wanted England to win the World Cup was to witness Djed Spence refusing to shake Donald Trump’s hand.

If you analyse England's team strengths, they're surely in attack. Kane and Bellingham are two world-class players, flanked by a player Barcelona just signed and arguably the best right-sided player in the PL. Rice and Anderson are top-level CM combo. Why would you choose to prioritise defence?

If we'd held out, I'd have had renewed confidence that we could stay up. It's a hammer blow, and it might be the final nail in the coffin. A much-improved performance deserved a win, but we can't catch a break.

I genuinely think if we'd persisted with Simons, and played to his strengths, we’d be better off than we are now. This team has clearly been missing someone with his creativity. Regardless, this is much better. A deserved lead against the league's in-form side.

Too many positives to mention them all, but a big shoutout for Gray. Simons and Tel looked dangerous too. It was just nice to see us playing with intent and confidence. Fair play to the players for going from rock bottom in the first leg to that, which shows impressive character. #COYS

You can understand why Tudor’s approach may have worked for clubs like Juve, chasing CL spots. A kick up the ass might be what they needed. Our confidence is at an all-time low, and he's making it worse.

Strangely, I think we've played way worse this season: two slips, a Kinksy howler, and a dubious goal against us.

Great man management. Now we have a first-choice keeper whose confidence has been knocked and a backup who can never play for us again.

My one takeaway from the Wrexham v Chelsea game so far: Wrexham are 100% beating us home and away in the Championship next season.
