I haven't posted (my own) health update in a while: The latest treatment has failed :( I knew right away because I nearly spat my lungs out as soon as I finished the last course of meds. Same lab test results as always, I only did the test so I could show it to my mom because she didn't believe me

Very exhausting day, but not necessarily a bad one. Grandma had another burst of energy that lasted a couple of hours. It was nice to see her smile time after time! She's asleep now. Less screaming and more mumbling this evening. I hope we can get supplemental oxygen for her tomorrow

Gosh, my grandma is deteriorating fast :( She had a good day yesterday, but today she was struggling to form and understand basic sentences. I also think she's going to be completely bedbound from now on. Taking just a couple of steps is too painful and exhausting for her

Dang I miss my dad. When he was sober and in a good mood (rare combination but it happened sometimes), we were very much in tune. He could be laid-back and goofy, he came up with some of the funniest words & nicknames I've ever heard. He liked the same brand of light-hearted teasing that I enjoy

I think today was the first time I saw a mosquito this year. To say they were ubiquitous several years ago would be an understatement - they swarmed you the moment you stepped outside. Drank bug spray like it was nothing. Now they kind of feel like an anomaly Slapped that bitch anyway

Update on mom: she is back from the hospital and in high spirits. The surgery went well! I hope she continues to make a steady recovery from now on. I'll be staying with her for a while

Update on mom's cancer: her biopsy & CAT scan are complete and things aren't looking terrible at the moment. The cancer itself is advanced and has been growing undetected for about 2 years, but is limited to just one of her breasts and a couple of nearby lymph nodes. No distant metastases!

On a lighter note, last Saturday marks the first time I got drunk in my life - completely by accident, though! My whole body was on fire when I came back from work, so I demolished a 0,5l can of beer in one go. I was convinced it was alcohol-free. Then the reality hit like a sack of bricks, haha

I started my new treatment yesterday & I feel cautiously optimistic about this one. It's going to last a little over 7 weeks, this time I'm on imported medicine (from France) as well as some supplements that work in synergy. The regime is somewhat strict, but doable!

Apologies for being such a downer here lately! I'm actually feeling pretty good at the moment - as long as I completely avoid any sugar, white flour and milk products, the symptoms are quite manageable. And I'm looking forward to starting a new treatment!

People are complimenting me on my weight loss, but the reality is that I'm only losing weight because I'm sick, everything I have inside is rebelling against me and more often than not eating food makes me suffer

Also - benzimidazoles don't do shit for me, man :( I tried albendazole, mebendazole & fenbendazole, none of them work. I still have hope in ivermectin, but right now I only have access to veterinary one and I'm scared of using it. How on earth are you supposed to get rid of these bastards

As for my infection - I'm finally seeing some improvements. The skin rash I've had for months has faded a little for the first time & my throat doesn't itch so bad anymore. I'm currently waiting for another medicine to try, fingers crossed this one finishes the job

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on Monday... I'm still trying to process that information We have yet to find out what type of cancer it is and how far it has spread, but we know it already affected the nearby lymph nodes. Mom says her legs hurt, so it might have spread to her bones already

This is quite interesting: I consider myself a hardcore introvert & I absolutely thrive in solitude, yet I don't have an issue chatting with strangers or calling them. Heck, I can handle bigger groups of tourists too. Just never try to drag me to a party or a convention because I ain't going, haha

I had to work on Saturday and Sunday & I'm ungodly tired, but it's been a nice week at work. The boss barely showed up, we saw a surprising influx of tourists from abroad. One person from the US, another from Canada. I had lots to talk about with both of them, fun times!

Yesterday I heard the words I was hoping to hear for many months now: I don't have asthma. That diagnosis was completely incorrect. My lungs are in perfect working order and my breathing patterns are exemplary!

I dreamt my account exploded with 1.5K notifications overnight. Most of them turned out to be messages from people I didn't even know, each complimenting me on a character that wasn't mine at all. It made me ragequit Bluesky in an instant Good to know I'm a drama queen in my dreams too ✨
