I flatly reject the notion that incumbent residents have a right to pick and choose who gets to move into their cities, towns, and neighborhoods. We welcome the stranger, period.

Exclusionary behavior is bad whether it's at the national or local level. Using the word "transplant" as a pejorative says something about you, and it isn't good.

I truly don’t understand this “transplant” nonsense. The whole THING about NYC is that ppl come here from other places to mutate into New Yorkers! TO SEE IF THEY CAN BE KING OF THE HILL, TOP OF THE HEAP! Imho a rando who moved here a year ago is the MOST NY person. Welcome Ohio rando, have a bagel

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Today, we're celebrating the workers who build, maintain, and keep our communities running, including the people who help turn plans into the homes our communities need. 🏘️ Here's to everyone who puts in the work to build a better future. 💪

SF's park study suggests that 100 new residents creates an impact greater than the park operating budget. CM Bushey iargues that there shouldn't be discounts on fees for affordable housing because they are "evidence based" fees. But they aren't - they are amped up as high as the city can justify.

One thing I hate about impact fees & their nexus studies is that it reinforces the idea that new residents are a burden. San Rafael needs new residents to support its business, prevent the closing of schools and update property tax basis.
