Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026Zero words on inequality, zero words about how the rich are ripping over everyone, but sure squeezed in the time to attack migrants twice! Yeah, business is pretty much as usual, seemingly.. 130

Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026No no not heartbroken now lol, just I think he won't actually do much of any of the good. Too many neoliberals around him. And certainly a lot of reactionary hate caused by the party, too! 000
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026Especially impressive since 1.5years ago the community finally succeeded in closing down Pusher street - a pretty hardcore gang-led drugs corner that resulted in stabbings etc. Seeing that happen with community efforts instead of over-policing is kind of astonishing. Long live Christiania! 270
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026Christiania - the legendary anarcho district in the heart of Copenhagen, squatted by a bunch of hippies in the 1970s. As of last weekend - 55yrs old so a festival was held. Incredible to see tens of thousands of supporters, a new generation of young folk enjoying the space - it's stronger than ever? 1242
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026My elderly mum is sadly still stuck in the UK so esp re: social care of it all it'll be good is she won't have to die in abject poverty, as per Tories wishes. She's a Greens voter tho anywho, Labour mismanaged her constituency to the ground. 000
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026No doubt. The Danish Social Democrats are mega fash on other fronts, but it's been refreshing to see a broad depoliticisation & anti-discriminatory approach for now. UK is murderously behind, & Labour in particular attracts JKRowling types 🤢 100
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 29/09/2026My bar is for sure below ground, & hearing at least something on the front line of problems did sound so needed! But needless to say it's not the first rodeo and chances are a tonne of the good stuff won't see the light of day! And scaremongering of course will. 100

Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 09/09/2026It's just so jarring - UK journalist elite being all defensive now "oh gosh can't believe this ungrateful nation is now closing our consulates!" when 1 - UK created the mess 2 - generations of activists (Corbyn included!) have been shouting about all this from rooftops and only got vilanised! 0131
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 09/09/2026what's wrong; it's really fascinating to see no one bringing up the colonial shenanigans of Mandatory Palestine - Britain's historical massive responsibility over the way it occupied the lands there, subjugated the people, engineered a mess and promptly left. Zero accountability! 1160
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 09/09/2026Idk, yes, it's good to see the UK government finally somewhat, a tiny little bit, criticise Israel's actions etc. But listening to the coverage today - all heralding Miliband as some sort of hero, tiny little plucky UK standing up against 1140

Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 05/09/2026You just grow up thinking the Northern hemisphere has this grandeur to it, whereas it's a significantly lesser spec in where the world happens. And it's awesome, it's exciting, it should invite curiosity and less of this literal self-aggrandising. Again, sad it took until 2026. 070
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 05/09/2026Unbelievable it took until 2026 to do this. My father wasn't paid much in salary (very post-USSR), but he was paid in stationery often so we had maps all over our home when I was little. These images absolutely form one's vantage, a wrong imagery of the world. I'm so glad it'll be more accurate now. 1160

Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 05/09/2026I do think we oughtn't have to message with as many people in as intense a way as we're now asked to. We're the 1st generation where it's normalised, but can be super grating and exhausting, dk. Before pulling away (which is fair) the last kind gesture would be perhaps telling them how you feel? 110
Marijam Didžgalvytė @marijamdid.com · 05/09/2026That's really really tough, I'm so sorry. Is there a possibility that these pals have other love languages, perhaps? Maybe messaging is just hard for them (I know it is for me.), and so if you express lack perhaps they can call or plan a date or send dumb memes, instead of thoughtful messages? 110
