I think the most disappointing thing about the Cubs crashing out of the playoffs is just how bad the last few weeks were. Choked away the top wild card spot, then 2 uncompetitive playoff games. And now we may not get to watch them for a very long time due to the expected lockout.

Assuming there is a baseball season next year, the Cubs are going to need so much. They really went all in at the deadline and the team just collapsed again down the stretch. They need a new LF, ideally help or a better 1B, maybe a RF, full bullpen overhaul again, tons of starting pitching.

One of my problems with the four-voice Peacock model is that there’s a weird need to hold a circle jerk at some point in each game. Because these guys don’t usually work together and two of the four have an allegiance to one of the teams, they feel this compulsion to glaze one another and it’s bad.
