Caveats! Data has limits. AIS creates blind spots, and distinguishing mid-water from bottom trawling is complex. Sometimes, boats use the wrong labels. We built these caveats into our reporting. But imperfect data is better than no data. It forces accountability and moves the conversation.

It works like this: 1. Select a UK Marine Protected Area. 2. Choose a timeframe. 3. You get a generated report on fishing intensity, vessel presence, and trawling hours. All of this is powered by the @globalfishingwatch.org API.

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait. My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
A Twitter account called Ivanka News tweets an AI image of a young woman wearing Muslim garb. The woman is holding a sign that says "I came here illegally. Should I be deported?"

Ivanka News writes: What is your response to this person ??

In the "About this account" tab, it appears the account is based in NigeriaAn account called MAGA scope writes:

Who, in your view is the great enemy of the United States? Communism, Islam, Democratic Party, or Satan?

The account is based in Nigeria. An account called MAGA Nadine writes: You go to work and find this. What would you do? The attached pic is an AI image that shows a microwave. The microwave has a sign that says "For religious reasons, this microwave is now making halal food only."

The account is based in Morocco. An account called America First posts an AI image of Tulsi Gabbard. They wrote: How would you rate your trust in Tulsi Gabbard on a scale of 1-10?

Every single company, government or individual celebrating the IEA's new fossil-explosion scenario is also celebrating the heating of earth by three bloody degrees:
1.2.2 Temperature outcomes in the scenarios
The long-term global average rise in temperatures above pre-industrial levels was around 1.4 °C in 2024 and since 1980 has been increasing by around 0.2 °C per decade. All scenarios exceed warming of 1.5 °C by around 2030, but differences in climate outcomes between the WEO scenarios begin to emerge after 2035.
In the CPS, warming exceeds 2 °C around 2050, reaches 2.9 °C in 2100, and is set to keep rising from there (Figure 1.5).

When a story is left vague, I like to look online for discussions and see what others understood from it. It works well for movies and series, but for novels, there usually isn't much. I'm not sure if book readers don't like to share their opinions as much or there's just not that many of them.
