The second you realise any video is AI all interest in it is lost. You may as well be watching Jungle Book as this.

A table worth 1.13 trillion and not one of them will get the round in. You just know the toast is "to the working man" while a bloke on minimum wage tops up their fizz. Somewhere a waiter is holding a tray and quietly planning the revolution. Lovely flowers though.

🧵 As front-page headlines go, this has to be one of the most misleading I've seen in a long time It's an out-and-out lie But notice the trick they use to get away with it...👀 *They're* not lying - they're just quoting someone else who is👍🏻 In this case, the leader of the opposition🙄 1/33

The precise face of a man who's just been told the buffet closed at two and no, they won't do him a fresh tray of cocktail sausages. Behind him, a woman calculating exactly how many more of these she has to attend before the will clears probate.

A man on the telly called the young snowflakes and I caught myself nodding. Then I remembered renting a seven-bedroom house on housing benefit for the parties, and running airport security with no CV. Even my hard was softer than their soft. New piece: snasty.substack.com/p/i-nearly-a...

Once he could make cruelty laughable; now he can only make it. To cheer mass mutilation because it tidied the ledger is not a joke, it is the confession of a man whose wit curdled into spite. The Cleese who wrote Basil Fawlty would have written the punchline about this Cleese.

"The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons" is widely attributed to the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky. I'd say we've passed then.

By that logic I can get rich by refusing to buy anything ever again. Sitting in a dark house, no telly, no beans, but flush as a lord because I've stopped "losing" money at Tesco. It's not economics, it's a man explaining a fridge to a spaniel.

I said "groovy" to a barista this week. He looked at me the way a dog looks at a card trick. Turns out the word is 1930s jazz, shares a root with "grave", and was killed by soft-drink adverts. New essay: A Word With a Grave In It. snasty.substack.com/p/a-word-wit...

No doubt. The rather formulaic nature of the book covers does make those shelves, to my eyes, look like like a lot of reading that'll all be a bit like each other. But, perhaps I'll pull one down and give it a go. Not sure it's written for me, but I'm willing to be surprised.

If you removed the Romantasy section in mine I feel it would be a couple of cook books and some large format books about Spitfires only left on that floor.

Devon's most fearsome gang, average age 74, have identified the real menace on our streets: a pole with three lights on it. Barry reckons it "looked at him funny". Their demands are simple, they want it gone and they want their bus passes honoured at Wetherspoons. Society trembles. [Morons]

A chef's job is meals; a copper's job is not arrests. It is 999 calls, evidence, courts, control rooms, the desk sergeant, the detective who cuffs no one for months. Judge policing by arrest tallies and you get exactly what you're begging for: coppers nicking people to hit a number.

Three hundred balaclavas shut Dover. Reform's answer to a woman hit with a walking stick was "Oh boo hoo". Berlin's cabarets thought mockery would see the brownshirts off. Cable Street knew better. Mock them. Then turn up. snasty.substack.com/p/thanks-you...

The Weimar cabarets laughed at the brownshirts. Cable Street stopped them. As the balaclavas reach the south coast, a note on which lesson to pack

Three thousand dead and he casts himself as the man the firemen carried to safety. His biographer counts a dozen employees where he swears there were hundreds. This is not memory failing. It is a man who cannot pass a grave without climbing on it to be seen.

"Pretending" is too kind, and it lets them off. Pretence implies a private flinch, a decency held in reserve. There is none. They saw the map, understood it perfectly, and cheered. This is not a nation averting its eyes from madness. It is a nation that finally got what it asked for.

Ah, that'll be the Lewes grape man. My auntie Pat saw him once and never fully recovered. Turns out the grapes are his only friends since the incident at the tombola. The cowboy hats are unrelated, they always are. Give him a wide berth and never mention Tuesday
