I sure did not expect Gemini to spill the beans in response to my request for a cooking timer. And yet it did. Maybe it thinks I speak JavaScript. The timer sure works. @kevlin.bsky.social does this quality as one? Software revealing its guts not just in failure? 🤔

I'm loving the new e-ink displays that are appearing across Stockholm's SL public transport network. They are sharp, clear, work high contrast and low power consumption.

I'm a little confused by this information from Gemini about the lack of end-to-end encryption. I'm pretty sure the only reason to not encrypt is do that Google can see the message...

Almost anywhere I look there is an opportunity for the software we're interacting with to get better. Here, something as simple as sort order is missing. I think some of this is related to the fact that quality professionals are undervalued. What else? I can't see AI fixing any of this.

ChatGPT still can't count the number of jars we made from the apples in the garden. Gemini only attempted the count after I told it ChatGPT can't do it. It counted 20. Computer vision still has some way to go. #AI #ChatGPT #computerVision

I really hope we can find out how to apply AI for slightly more meaningful tasks. I would also like to stop wasting water and energy for such use cases.

I'm curious what made Google folks think that translating local place names would be a good idea. The "Danzig Oliva" is really "Gdańsk Oliva" and would make way more sense like this.
