I think a lot of concerns about AI affecting artistic expression are a question of survivorship bias. Artists and writers were already creating terabytes of slop long before AI. Mass-produced SEO blogs, low quality anime art comms, keyword-led YouTube content—we are inundated with garbage art.

my hot take is that there's not really an overbuilding of datacenters given the capabilities at hand and a crash would still be economically transformative because inference would be dirt cheap and even existing models are capable, with the proper tools, of totally changing daily life.
