T26s almost done! Not bad for about an hour (plus drying time). Just needs the tracks doing and some stars added. I think I've got most of the Soviet parts for the September war supplement for IABSM now. Which is nice.

Finished the horses and driver (finally) for an idea for What a cowboy chases. Just have to get that written up now! Also did a test base for the Zulu war in Death in the dark continent. Not done a great job on it but the armies should look decent.

Let the varnish dry so I can add a little basing and that's a nice little Valentine company. I want to use them for I ain't been shot mum. I've heard people say it's not good for all armoured games because "it's an infantry game" and frankly I want to prove them wrong.

Get some black on and a brushing of dust and they really start to come together. However those Valentine road wheels are unusually fiddly to paint so rather than doing all 21 tanks in one big alternating session I think I'll put the Pzs to one side until I've broken the back of this. Then... decals.

Lots of little tanks all over the place! Interestingly the PzIIIs have had the same final colour on them but the base colours and wash were different. Can't remember what they were now or what my original plan was but they should end up looking decent and varied. Possible Operation crusader forces?

I think I'm actually quite keen to return to 15mm y'know. Kinda wish I'd stockpiled a few more of the old Battlefront metals though. I've only got approximately a platoon each of 8th army and DAK. Still, not a bad start!

Seems that WW2 tanks are my painting comfort food. If it wasn't for waiting for decals to set these would take no time at all! So bringing to mind an early thought reading CoC2 - tank platoon campaign? Kursk feels viable.

Panzers, Panzers and Hittites. Thinking about what I have and what's available I may pivot on my WW2 stuff towards 15mm. Maybe have early to mid in 10mm and the rest of mid to late in 15mm. 28mm as a wild card. Sticking to 10mm for my bronze age while Newline stays affordable.

Oh good. Prices are rising again. I think £11.56 for 36 10mm models is too much for me. A lot of the small scale attraction for me was being able to dip into all sorts for a small cost and I think that time has passed. Pretty sad about it all really. Anyway, here's a 28mm print that cost pennies.

Hang on, I noticed a pic in the Far east book for CoC and it's led me on a chase looking for uniform info. The Australians in Malaya went with their desert gear which is why I've done all my troops as in the pic. But I think the soft hats were khaki(?) and helmets may be green. Unless they weren't.

Ok, last bit about this horse but I think I've nailed the base. Vallejo earth texture (dark earth), drybrushed desert yellow, spaced out Krautcover "copious earth" and some swamp tufts from Great escape for flavour. And in daylight it photos as almost one colour. Good!

Well... kinda firey. Made a few mistakes on what may have been key brush strokes. Decided if I'm worrying about specific brush strokes I'm thinking about it too much. Oddly the final "smokey black" brushing did a good job unifying a lot of the look. Happy with that.

Not as densely packed as intended but I don't think it looks bad. Besides, 20 pike and 10 shotte per stand at 15mm (give or take) is a decent number I reckon. Could do with another 2 sprues and to make some flags and I'm good to go!
