A 6mm game tonight of Napoleonics using an interesting twist on Strength and Honour. Not my idea I should add! 😂 It has some legs but lots and lots and lots of changes needed to get it right. This is not a project I’ll be working on so don’t go getting ideas!

A friendly afternoon game with that nice @markbackhouse29.bsky.social playtesting #chivalry&honour with Battle of Lindsey 1066. Great fun and a fantastic narrative battle that ended badly for the Viking horde (commentary on photos). #strength&honour #vikings #1066 #deadvikings

Hardrada’s Hirdmen start to break up the Mercians on their right flank but the Housecarls hold firm swinging their great axes and beating their shields in defiance.

Hardrada’s Norwegians are pinned on the Brook. But he leads a charge on the right flank. The Mercians lock shields and their tight Shieldwall holds together.

William brings up his cavalry on the right flank as the Saxons leave the safety of the hill to counterattack the weakened Norman centre. While the Norman infantry in the centre falters under the pressure, William’s knights manage to bludgeon their way through the Saxon shieldwall and breaking them.

Leofwine’s fyrdsmen are caught out but the Norman and Breton cavalry, but he manages to retire back up the hill suffering losses. In the pursuit Eustace of Bolougne is wounded and dragged to safety.
